Adrian Rogers’ widow concerned about Woke Adam Greenway’s leadership of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS). Joyce Rogers considered moving the Adrian Rogers Library in protest.

The widow of Conservative Resurgence leader Dr. Adrian Rogers was so alarmed about the leftist drift of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) under the leadership of Adam Greenway that Joyce Rogers considered moving the Adrian Rogers Library from SWBTS in protest. Buried within a 9-page letter of Dr. David Allen’s was this stunning information.

According to Allen, the longtime professor worked to prevent Joyce Rogers from moving the Adrian Rogers Library in protest of the Adam Greenway’s leadership.

According to Dr. David Allen, “At your request, assisted you to persuade Joyce Rogers not to remove the Adrian Rogers Library from the Seminary over her concerns about your leadership direction.”

Adrian Rogers was one of the modern Southern Baptists heroes. Rogers’s election as President of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) in 1979 began the Conservative Resurgence—where conservatives reclaimed the denomination from so-called moderates, who were truly theological liberals.

Rogers served three times as President of the Southern Baptist Convention and his widow Joyce Rogers donated 3,500 books, notes and other memorabilia to Southwestern in 2015.

Dr. Allen worked to preserve this legacy for SWBTS. And how did the Leftist Adam Greenway reward him?

Greenway fired Allen and then proceeded to lie about it by announcing Allen’s retirement from SWBTS.

Clearly, Joyce Rogers was right to be worried about the leftist drift of the Southern Baptist Convention and the unchristian leadership of Adam Greenway at SWBTS.

Greenway fired Dr. Allen without giving any reason, according to Dr. Allen’s public statement. Also, Dr. Greenway is championing egalitarian views of women holding the title of pastor in his latest attack on Dr. Albert Mohler.

But no leftward drift anyone! Nothing to see here. Move along. Everything is fine!

H/T to Stephen Beavers for pointing out we needed to write about this.
