Anti-Trump Christianity Today publishes Southern Baptist missions expert who says ‘Happy Holidays’ is not taking Jesus Christ out of Christmas.

In a long piece correcting myths about Christmas, Shane Pruitt declares that Happy Holidays isn’t part of the War on Christmas. Pruitt is a published author of 9 Common Lies Christians Believe and the National Next Gen Evangelism Director for the North American Mission Board (NAMB).

He writes in 9 Common Myths Christians Believe at Christmas about the popular stories of the Wise men, star and Mary riding a donkey that aren’t necessarily in the biblical narrative. He concludes by telling Christians that Happy Holidays is not about removing Christ from Christmas.

He writes:

“Finally, saying “Happy Holidays” is “Taking Christ out of Christmas.”

“This statement may be an attempt at being “politically correct.” However, holiday literally means, “holy day.” Celebrating the birth of Jesus definitely makes it a holy day. Thankfully, because of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, everyday can be a happy holy day.

“To the believer, Christmas shouldn’t be a one-day celebration, but rather, a lifestyle of celebrating the truth that Jesus is Immanuel—God with us.”

Good grief.

So, this Southern Baptist missions expert believes that it is a myth saying Happy Holidays is removing Christ from Christmas.

Can you believe this? It reminds me of Southern Baptist Convention president claiming Muslims worship the same God as Christians. And yes, he did it in the same style of correcting “Myths” about Islam.

Even the grammar experts at Grammarly know the difference. They explain:

“If you say “Merry Christmas” to someone who celebrates Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or nothing at all, you could make them feel marginalized: like their own beliefs aren’t valued or respected by society. And that’s not a good way to feel around the holidays.

“What about saying “Happy Holidays” to someone who celebrates Christmas—won’t that make them feel bad, too? Unfortunately, there’s a chance of that, especially because Christmas is still so widely celebrated. But one holiday being more popular than the others doesn’t mean you should ignore the other ones.

“Think of it this way: “Happy Holidays” includes Christmas as one of those holidays, and “Merry Christmas” leaves out everything other than Christmas.”

In other words, Yes. Happy Holidays is all about being politically correct.

Did you notice where the post was published? It was published by the Anti-Trump Christianity Today website.

You probably already know the organization revealed it is a partisan Democratic tool when it suggested Trump should be removed from office.

But, did you notice this attack on Christmas was published on the blog of Ed Stetzer?

Stetzer is a former leader in the Southern Baptist Convention and implicated in a journalistic conflict of interest scandal. The disturbing details show a close connection between Stezter and disgraced Pastor James MacDonald. MacDonald gave Stetzer a car. Stetzer enjoyed other financial connections with MacDonald’s church.

According to journalist Julie Roys,

“Stetzer has had a close relationship with MacDonald and Harvest for years. He’s spoken at Harvest’s Vertical Church Conferences, its former Harvest University, and has been a guest preacher at weekend services. Stetzer also appears to have worked as a consultant for the church. According to a 2017 Harvest publication for 40 Mighty Men, a group of major Harvest contributors, Harvest paid Stetzer $15,000 to bring his ‘influence and network . . . into the mix of church planting.’

“Getting paid for these kinds of jobs and engagements is common among Christian speakers and leaders. However, Stetzer’s receipt of a large gift from a celebrity pastor like MacDonald raises conflict of interest issues, given Stetzer’s position at Wheaton College and especially his role as an editor for Christianity Today (CT).”

It’s an infestation folks. Self-enriching men and women in Big Evangelicalism are promoting nutty things and betraying the very essence of Christmas.

Don’t be deceived. Say Merry Christmas and freak out these Culture Pleasers of Big Eva.

  1. Having escaped the German reprisals against those with his blood, Eastern European Jew Rafail Lemkin spent his last years in new York. One gift he gave to mankind was how he described and defined the term ‘Cultural Genocide’…

    (a) Any action which has the aim or effect of depriving them of their integrity as distinct peoples, or of their cultural values or ethnic identities;
    (b) Any action which has the aim or effect of dispossessing them of their lands, territories or resources;
    (c) Any form of population transfer which has the aim or effect of violating or undermining any of their rights;
    (d) Any form of assimilation or integration by other cultures or ways of life imposed on them by legislative, administrative or other measures;
    (e) Any form of propaganda directed against them.

    And when I think of all that has been done to and directed at White Southerners during my lifetime, I realize that we are undergoing a Cultural Genocide – from our flags, to our history, monuments, and, yes, our Southern Faith, which is now being liquidated of Southernisms to make way for Globalism

    We, however, still hold the final trump card, and that is whether we will allow this to continue to occur…
