The senior linebacker had successful knee surgery Thursday.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban announced that senior outside linebacker Alex Watkins would miss the remainder of the spring after suffering a knee injury.

“Alex Watkins injured his knee Wednesday and had successful surgery yesterday,” said Saban. “He will be out for the rest of spring practice, but we expect a full recovery for fall camp.”

The Crimson Tide will hold the seventh practice of the spring Friday afternoon and scrimmage for the first time Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The scrimmage is closed to the public.
