Many laughed at his proposal? Count me in as one of the many.
If he could convince the State to legalize live dealers at Dog Tracks or new casinos, I would like him more. Too much Alabama & Georgia money is going to Mississippi.
The Olympics in Birmingham? Do I laugh, or do I simply roll my eyes?
Mayors like Langford is the reason I’ll never live in Birmingham.

crazy? yeah, crazy like a fox. the 2020 olympics endgame is the domed stadium.
langford ain’t stupid. he knows there’s a snowballs chance in hell b’ham gets the olympics. but if you’re gonna compete, you’ve GOT TO HAVE a domed stadium.
that’s where langford’s money is. there’s lots of escalades and $5000 suits in a domed stadium.
all of the kickbacks in olympic feasability studies and the like are icing on the cake.
but let there be no doubt, the cake IS the domed stadium.
