Lifelong Democrat Russell Moore must go. Hypocrite Moore’s ERLC lied to federal appeals court.
Has Russell Moore no shame? The man who leads an organization that lied to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (and has not apologized to the man the lies injured) is attacking Donald Trump’s fitness for office. Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) said he would impeach and vote to convict President Donald Trump.
It is unsurprising. He is a lifelong Democrat and purveyor of racial identity politics. Conservatives called on him to resign for his many calumnies. However, his latest hatred for the President should be the last straw for Southern Baptists.
Moore writes, “If I were the President, I would resign. If I were the Vice President, I would assemble the cabinet in accordance with the 25th Amendment. If I were a Member of Congress, I would vote to impeach. And if I were a United States senator, I would vote to convict.”
How in the world can Russell Moore write that Trump should resign after what the ERLC did with that amicus brief? Moore has disqualified himself!
And then Moore engages in some virtue signaling. He writes, “And I would be willing, if necessary, to lose my seat to do so. As a matter of fact, I am willing, if necessary, to lose this seat.”
And you should lose it. Your deranged hatred for the President has only grown since 2016. You do not represent Christians. You do not represent conservatives.
That is why over 5,000 Christians commented that you should resign. Many Southern Baptists have now said they will not fund the Southern Baptist Convention
And this latest comment drew even more condemnation from Christians and Southern Baptists. Here are a few choice comments.
Red Phillips said Russell Moore is an “Establishment stooge!”
Karen Chesnut said, “You have got to be kidding. I am Southern Baptist and completely disagree. Over the last few years I have disagreed several times. I believe this convention and leaders need to think about some things.”
Annie Keys said, “His Marxist philosophy is destroying the church. He needs to be recalled.”
Kenny Crabtree said, “Baptists who follow this man have lost their way.”
Vick Brown said, “I do NOT support Russell Moore’s unprincipled and unbiblical stand.”
Stewart Schmidt said, “Stop giving him a platform. He is a pox.”
Brad Downs said, “That kind of trash gives Baptists a bad name.”
Karen Jackson said, “I decided a while ago not to attend an SBC (church). They have lost it.”
Every day Russell Moore remains in power, the Southern Baptist Convention alienates Christians in its bid to please the secular world. How many bible-believing Christians will Russell Moore’s unbiblical stands drive away?
Russell Moore’s actions show him to be a deceiver, a hypocrite and incompetent. He must go!
To borrow from Oliver Cromwell, Russell Moore, you’ve dishonored the Southern Baptist Convention by pushing Democrat agitprop. You are an enemy of all good government. You are like Esau and sold your country for George Soros backing and like a Judas betrayed our Savior’s message of salvation and exchanged it for Identity Politics as the MLK50 so clearly showed. You can do no good in your place. So, in the Name of God, go!
On April 20, 1653, Oliver Cromwell dissolved the Long Parliament in words that almost seem perfect for our situation with Russell Moore. Here is the text of Cromwell’s memorable words:
“It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
“Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter’d your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
“Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil’d this sacred place, and turn’d the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress’d, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
“In the name of God, go!”
