National watch list recognition has come to Tuscaloosa as several Crimson Tide football players have been named to 14 watch lists. There’s no debate that this ‘Bama team is full of talent, as a dozen players are listed as preseason candidates for the nation’s top awards for college football.

Here is the complete lists of honorees:

Maxwell Award (most outstanding college football player: AJ McCarron and Eddie Lacy

Manning Award (top quarterback): AJ McCarron

Lombardi Award (top lineman or linebacker): Barrett Jones, D.J. Fluker, Chance Warmack, Nico Johnson, C.J. Mosley, and Jesse Williams

Butkus Award (top linebacker): Nico Johnson and C.J. Mosley

Outland Trophy (best interior lineman): Barrett Jones, D.J. Fluker, Chance Warmack, and Jesse Williams

Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back): Robert Lester

Bronko Nagurski Trophy (top defensive player): Nico Johnson, C.J. Mosley, Jesse Williams, Dee Milliner, and Robert Lester

Bednarik Award (top defensive player): Nico Johnson, C.J. Mosley, Jesse Williams, and Robert Lester

Rimington Trophy (top center): Barrett Jones

Lou Groza Award (top kicker): Jeremy Shelley

Mackey Award (most outstanding tight end): Michael Williams

Doak Walker Award (most outstanding running back): Eddie Lacy

Walter Camp Award (Player of the Year): AJ McCarron and Barrett Jones

Jones of course is the current reigning Outland Trophy winner.
