The rumor that talk radio star Paul Finebaum wants out of WJOX has hit the radio industry trade publications. Two radio industry websites have covered the Finebaum lawsuit against Citadel and

According to Tom Taylor’s newsletter for Radio-Info.com, Paul Finebaum could be headed away from WJOX and its parent Citadel and toward Cox radio and a “brand-new sports station.”

According to the newsletter, “Finebaum’s aware that Cumulus is about to take over Citadel. Just as Nashville sports talk star George Plaster is rumored to be headed across town to Bud Walters’ new “102.5 The Game”, Finebaum may see this as the right moment to leave WJOX. Has this already gotten into the courts, with a petition for declaratory judgment?”

AllAccess.com reported the lawsuit.

According to the All Access report, “PAUL FINEBAUM’s lawsuit against CITADEL BROADCASTING has fans on the AUBURN and ALABAMA football message boards speculating whether FINEBAUM, whose show is an institution in the region, is attempting to get out of his contract and move to another station or network. The case was filed in ALABAMA Northern District Court and most recently was subject to a Petition for Removal to another jurisdiction, but the docket presently does not indicate any details of the suit.”

The speculation earlier in August on message boards was fueled by a listing of the case on Justica.com. The judicial website posted general information about the case on August 3.

  1. This will be a good move. Means he will no longer be a Jox Barn puppet like all the other radio personalities on that pathetic station. At that point I think you’ll see him reveal more and more on the Barn corruption, i.e. Cam, south Florida, Lousianna, south Georgia, Arkansas, etc. .

    1. You moron. Finebaum is not an investigative reporter. He doesn’t know anything. He only knows rumors and speculates. He plays on the emotions of the ignorant, overly opinionated rednecks that listen to his show.

Expecting Finebaum to come up with substantive evidence against Auburn is just as paranoid and illogical as expecting Jerry Springer to come with evidence that Obama is a Taliban sympathizer.

      1. There are about as many Bama fans in Tennessee as there is UT fans. And being in Nashville, I know there are plenty of Vandy fans that would root for Bama over UT. No one likes you Idiot Vol.

      2. Indy vol there are just as many Bama fans in
Nashville as Vandy fans, Got any more stupid
comments ASSWIPE!! How many games are
the vols going to win this year 5 or 6 idiot!!

  2. Finebaum leaving WJOX.
    Yawn.
Hard to believe some people still listen to this guy.

  3. He’s already got it son. Leaving JOX will free him up to release it. Barn is going down hard. Finebaum has the goods on the ugliest village on the plains and the crash will not be pretty.

      1. Kind of like the AUBURN DELUSION that Cam Newton turned down $180-200,000 to play football for free at Auburn University. Pot meet kettle dumb ass

  4. I am not surprised by any of this. JOX has lost a lot of it’s credibility with the other shows . The morning show with “Jay Evans” is a complete joke. Haney has ruined the damn thing.

  5. Funny being called names from a fanbase of an “AG” College that gets a hard on from a bald eagle and runs a slavery type plantation for the athletes on campus

  6. It has always been a hard ass business. You are on borrowed time in radio until the next big gig comes along. Nothing about this will change the world – except Paul will make more money. That’s the American way.

  7. RC,

Do you actually believe the crap you right, or just try to think of the most ridiculous comment possible.

  8. Albert Means just tweeted that he thinks bama should be rated number 1, like last year.

Ahhhhh, you dumb ass bammers never stop amazing me. What were you rated again last year

    1. You are just pissed off because Bama and Saban get the respect and deserve the lofty expectations year in and year out. It has always been that way at Bama you know. High expectations are part of the tradition.

All you guys really care about is beating Bama, cult worshiping, and rolling trees. Big difference in philosophy.

  9. Allen,

Our team was overrated last year, but they shouldn’t have been in the Top 5 anyway after LOSING 9 STARTERS from 2009 Dumb Asses. Let’s see how many games Auburn wins this year

  10. FYI,

AUBURN REDNECKS ACTUALLY THINK CAM NEWTON TURNED DOWN MSU MONEY TO PLAY AT AUBURN FOR FREE. THAAAAT IS DELUSION!!!!!

  11. RC,

I found in life that, generally speaking, those who shout the loudest and resort to name calling are either struggling intellectually and/or realize they cannot support their argument.

Even the most ardent Bama fan should be able to rationally recognize the difference between living and playing football in Starkville vs. living and playing football at Auburn. I’m going to assume if given a choice between a sh*t sandwich for free and a well cooked steak that you have to pay for, most people will choose the steak. Auburn is a much nicer town to live in and the team was in much better shape to be competitive (particularly for someone with aspirations of going to the NFL). From just a simple investment standpoint, it makes sense to attend AU for free over MSU for money.

I wonder if there are any players on Bama’s roster that were also recruited by Miami (of course there are, as most SEC teams have players recruited at some point by Miami)? Based on your logic, we should assume that Bama payed them. After all, why go and play in Tuscaloosa for free when they could live in beautiful Coral Gables???? See how easy that is?

    1. Well, FYI, the part about a sh~t sandwich for free, or a well-cooked steak, it looks like Cam took the sh~t sandwich, according to your cult members. You think Auburn is somehow a better place than most other SEC schools is just your biased opinion. We can make the same argument for Bama, since their facilities and stadium and gameday atmosphere trumps Auburns in just about every way. I guess we could say Calloway and Cyrus decided to play for free at Bama over the pay-for-play at Auburn then, right?

  12. FYI,

Anybody who really believes Auburn, AL is really that much of an upgrade from Starkville, MS that some kid would turn down $200,000 has got to be the dumbest son of a bitch on Earth. Are you seriously comparing Auburn to Miami? LOL. You and the rest of the religious hypocrites at Auburn have been selling the “beauty” of Auburn for years. I’ve been there EVERY other year since 1989, with the exception of ’91, and that is the biggest propaganda B. S. I have ever heard. You REALLY need to get out of the South more often. I always love how you guys refer to the Tuscaloosa ghettos, which in Auburn, is code for those scary black people.

As far as namecalling being the product of a weak mind, please explain FBJ, Capstoner, Robert Garrard, and several other fringe lunatic Auburn fans on this site. You really have to be the dumbest son of a bitch alive. See how easy that was?

    P. S. STOP WRITING TERM PAPERS

    1. Its going to be a good day RC, relax a little bit. Enjoy life. Dont talk about what others do, WHEN YOU DO THE SAME DAMN THING YOURSELF, YA PENCILNECKED PUNK. STFU while your at it.

  13. FBJ

POT MEET KETTLE @$$HOLE. If you’re not going to accept my challenge, and you don’t like what I say, then STFU you little pussy boy. I’m not leaving. This is a Bama site. We’ll stop investigating & reporting on them when somebody from over there demands a clean program from the University

  14. I just hope the new “format” doesn’t have the commercials Haney pimps on WJOX — the intensity I suppose — give Paul some flexibility too — if there is something important going on — don’t give me a mandated Ryan Haney commercial break — jeez — sounds like a good move to me.

  15. Pssst, FyI:

you can’t be a little brother when you lead the overall series by 6 games (soon to be 7++++). Auburn IS and ALWAYS be considered Alabama’s little brother NATIONWIDE. I’m sure you’ll use cherrypicked stats, but as Finebaum and Brando have said, the Mike Shula games are tainted and Auburn should not be given full credit. Take the Shula years away, the series is even after Bear. Take the idiot Curry away, Bama dominates. Since you guys want to discount 25 years of Bear, I’m discounting 7 years of Curry and Shula. I can cherrypick too 🙂

  16. Here is a “Lil Brother” moment for you. In your lifetime, the cow college will never, ever accomplish what The Alabama “Crimson Tide” has accomplished. So when you’re dead and in the ground, the cow college will still be second fiddle. Our tradition is measured by wins and accomplishments. Your tradition is measured by how many rolls of toilet paper can you throw in one night. See the difference???

    1. SIMPLE> You don’t think African-Americans can afford nice cars and clothes. I would LOVE to debate some Auburn fans on this, so I can expose them for the low class bigots we all know them to be.

Hypocrisy, Arrogance, Racism. THIS IS AUBURN FOOTBALL. WAAAAAAH EAGLE BODDDA GETTA

  17. RC,

Did you even read the blog/article? Julio is quoted as saying the following about his mother, “She works at KFC. Before that, she worked at Church’s Chicken for a long time. It’s time for her to take a break.” Unless she is the CEO of KFC, which is unlikely given the context of his quote (how he wants to be able to take care of her since she has struggled), it’s pretty much impossible that she or he could afford a Yukon Denali. A used 3 year old Denali sales for about 40,000 – there’s not many people that can afford one regardless of race, age, or gender(much less if they are working at a fast food restaurant). Your suggestion that I am a racist is just another example of you being unable to discuss anything in a civil, intelligent manner.

  18. FYI- I read the article asswipe, however, are you now trying to say that Julio doesn’t have any other family except his mother to buy that kind of automobile for him? I mean, as Auburn logic goes, if Cam and Cecil will turn down $180-200,000 to play at Auburn for FREE, is it beyond logic to surmise that Julio has some wealthy relatives? Using Auburn logic

Your response to this will go a long way towards your future credibility on this blog

  19. RC,

Is it possible that another family member bought the vehicle? Sure. Let’s stop and think about this for a second. A Denali would cost approximately $900-$2500 a month to finance, depending on the finance rate, term, and down payment. Let’s disregard for a moment the custom paint and wheels. That’s a HUGE chunk of change for anyone outside the wealthiest in Alabama. You’re telling me that a family struggles to make it most of their lives, then out of the blue a supposed super wealthy family member steps in and drops that kind of money on a car (coincidentally as the kid becomes a star recruit), and you don’t think there is anything fishy going on??????
