  1. “In this AP story on Troy coach Larry Blakeney, you get to read of the contrast in profile of the two most successful coaches and the two most successful programs in the state.”

    LMAO

  2. He got Tainted at Auburn and this has made him untouchable.
If this Campus was in Dothan – you would have a big deal program.

  3. Keep it down home, Cuz.

Blakeney and Saban are both Head Coaches at Division One schools in the State of Alabama. But, with all due respect to Blakeney, the similarities end there.

Blakeney is a clear example of the cheating that has been rampant at Auburn for the better part of the past 60 years.

  4. Troy is now the 2nd best program in the State. The numbers don’t lie. They have more NC’s, more conference championships and have put more players in the NFL over the past two years than Aubie has.Realistically I’d rank Aubie as the 5th best program in the State. Jacksonville St. is the only team in DII history with NC’s in football, baseball and basketball. UNA is a current DII power. It must really suck to be an Aubie these days.

  5. Hmmm…Lets see. Sun Belt , and SEC…..Yeah, you cant compare Blakeney to any coach in the SEC..Why would you even go there ?

  6. Well if Chiznik doesn’t work out, then Auburn has got their man in Blakeney. He is part of the Auburn Famblyâ„¢.

  7. I wonder how many SEC coaches could have taken Troy from Division 2, to 1AA power, to Division one bowl team the way Blakeney has. Saban, Meyer, a young Spurrier, but who else? Anyone think Les or Nutt could, imagine Petrino having to have the patience to build a program from nothing. If Chiznik went 2-10 at Iowa State in a big conference imagine how much he would suck at Troy in the Sun Belt. The guy is an Aub and he did do something stupid that I’m sure he regrets, but he is a decent human being and one heck of a football coach.
