According to the Birmingham News, “Defensive lineman Alfy Hill, the No. 4 prospect on the Charlotte Observer’s list of the top 25 college football prospects in North Carolina, will announce this morning that he has committed to Alabama, according to his high school coach.”
Hill is rated a four-star recruit by Rivals, and a four-star prospect by Scout. Scout lists Hill with offers from schools like Alabama, North Carolina, Duke, East Carolina, Michigan, North Carolina State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. Rivals rates Hill’s speed “as good as it gets.”
ESPNU lists Hill as a part of the ESPNU 150 Watch List with a score of 82. ESPNU’s evaluation of Hill provides some good detail. According to the ESPNU scouts, “Hill is an interesting prospect because he is a big kid, who can move. He also presents some nice versatility. He will likely end up at defensive end with his size, but can be used as a linebacker or allowed to slide down inside and take reps as a defensive tackle. He looks all of what he is listed at on film and in a straight line he can motor. He has long strides and can cover some ground.” As always, there is much more analysis at ESPN’s website. Worth reading for recruiting fans.
Other info about Hill: He is 6’4″, 240 lbs., and comes from Shallotte, NC. According to Rivals, Hill’s GPA is 2.85.

Yep, get better for the Tide, and keep getting worse for Auburn and Tennessee.
I sure hope Alabama looks at Cody Taylor from Sumiton Christian, Alabama. I watched him play at Greene County last week and he has got to be one of the best corner-backs in the state. He broke up 6 passes. What is more impressive is that he is the starting tailback too! He also played a little at strong side line backer. i counted the players on the team and it was only 20. He plays the whole game on both sides of the ball as do some of the other players, but he is the best by far! Keep an eye out for this kid. He is just a Junior!
