UPDATE: SOFTBALL SEASON ENDS TOO Arizona State defeated the Crimson Tide 3-1 Sunday at the Women’s College World Series. Alabama ended the season with a record of 58-8. Alabama also posted the best showing ever at the WCWS with a 2-2 record.

Alabama was bounced from the NCAA baseball tournament Sunday losing 16-1 to East Carolina. The loss dropped the Tide to 35-28 on the season. The 16-1 loss was the worst ever for the Tide in NCAA tournament play.
The Sunday loss and Saturday evening loss were in large part due to pitching woes.
“This game was like the second half of last night’s game, where we struggled on the mound,†Alabama head coach Jim Wells said. “It all starts with pitching and we did not do that very well the last two days.â€
