Is it a case of a California kid not able to take real football instead of Shulaball? Or is it the case of Nick Saban being a big meanie?

Jimmy Barnes father alleges Saban did not respect players dignity.


Some football players disagree with the Barnes family: “One thing he (Saban) is really big about is treating people with respect,” (Wallace) Gilberry said. Quarterback John Parker Wilson added that “respect is a big issue around here.” Gilberry made that statement in the Birmingham News.

Much was made this week about Barnes decision to leave. This Birmingham News story adds some perspective to the situation. Fortunately, Alabama has a quarterback coming in the Fall, which should stabilize the QB depth chart. And, if a player is really unhappy, it is better he leave and find the place he really wants, rather than hang around.
