The Big 12 (Little 12) was saved by the greed of the University of Texas Longhorns.

According to Pete Thamel of the New York Times via twitter, “Source confirms that Texas asked to be able to keep own local TV and wanted ‘extra sweetner’ financially from revenue sharing at 11th hour.” And this via twitter, “Sorry if unclear. Texas made those demands to the Pac-10 at 11th hour, ending the talks. Hence, Texas greed keeps B12 alive. How quaint.”

  1. Yes sir ree. UTZ the dictators of the southwest. Alabama loves to Lord it over our rivals too. But we do it by whipping their asses at football and then reminding them of it daily in a not too subtle manner. Not by bludgeoning them with blackmail and stealing all the money. So rejoice, Barnies and Rocky Flop and Corndogs et al. It could be a hell of a lot worse. But for the grace of God you could be in Texas’ conference! Bwaa Haww Haww! RTR!

  2. What gets to me is how the Sooner Nation can allow Bevo to drive the Boomer Schooner. And after the latest Texas Holdem, you would think somebody would emerge from behind the curtain.Ok.& Mizzou would be perfect SEC fits. The Pac 10 my butt.
