It has been all over the news over here. Including the part were Williams said that the Aussies were lovely people. Almost everyone thinks that Rudd over reacted.
About a dozen people have called apologizing for Rudd’s crack at Alabama. Then they asked what Rednectk meant. lol.
Seriously though. I wouldnt read to much into it. The guy is Kevin Rudd for God’s sake. A total wuss who believes in total gun bans,hugging trees and sniffing Obama’s backside to catch the political flavor of the day.

i love my aussie friends to death but, dear lord, those folks have the thinnest skins of anyone on the planet. and it’s not a “redneck” there, it’s a “bogan” and, oh my, do they ever have their fair share of them.
Say what you will about rednecks, but ponder this: Country bars and dives never shut down one week after the grand opening. There must be some civility to us.

Its a beautiful country full of great people.
I love it over here. It is like Alabama. People are hospitable and will give you the shirt off their backs if you are in need. There isnt a ton of crime so when anything does happen the shock is unreal to most people here.
