UPDATE 5:45 p.m.: Fallout
Jay G. Tate has a very interesting report on his blog; the post chronicles a radio caller who claimed to be the wife of an Auburn assistant coach.

“My husband was sitting in Maryland in the Cotton’s home. This is how Auburn runs things. This is going to hurt recruiting. All the coaches are on the road. They knew they were going to do this. You do it right — you tell them don’t leave out, don’t go on the road. Let the families know first. This is how Auburn runs things — just like they did in 03.”

Tate has more of the call on his blog.

I still cant believe it… this will be the costliest error ever. Unless auburn can come up with a NC caliber coach.
They wont be able to do that. This is Auburn and they just dont have that much stroke.

    Auburn?
Where are they located and are they interested in making me a millionaire?
Oh wait, Dad says that it is a sewer.

I am tired of being stalked by Bobby Lowder. You would think that he would have taken the hint the first 27 times he approached me!”

Crap! Oh, how I wanted him to stay. I guess the powers at be finally decided he was the imposter we have all known him to be, or maybe Saban embodies as much fear in them as he did/does Tubberville. Somebody had it right in 03. I guess the uburn family no longer wanted him. (“I will be here, at uburn, as long as they want us”) What a difficult and embarrassing situation. It will be a start from scratch job for whoever fills that position.

Barneys get ready to man up. You will have a rough time for the foreseeable future. Of course, that is what you had with Tubberville anyway. You just did not know it.

It will be a daunting task getting the right man for the job. We and you both know this to well. Unfortunately for you, no well established coach will take the job.

If the man happens to be Leach, just think about Miles. Miles won the NC with 2 loses using Saban’s players. Miles’ pants are as hot as Tubberville’s before the Iron Bowl currently.

36 to nothing = fire coach

Here is an excerpt from my next article:

“I remember where I was when I heard the news” that will become the catch-phrase used to tell of the tragic day that Tommy Tuberville left Auburn.
I know in my own personal case. I was riding in my car and suddenly the sky opened up…. as if it were crying in sorrow over a monumental loss. Instictively, I turned on my radio to the Finebaum show. And when he confirmed the news, I had to pull over on the shoulder of the road. I froze and suddenly I felt the pain of losing our Great American leader running down my face. As I lay there in my front seat in the fetal postion, I openly wept at the loss of our heroic Tommy. …….

Isn’t it ironic that in Saban’s second season we are 12-0 and are two biggest rival’s coaches are canned? Don’t think for a minute that if Auburn had won in the iron bowl and won in a bowl game this would have happened. The 36-0 ass whipping was the final nail in Mister seven fingers coffin. However, I wish he would have stayed for some more trips to the woodshed.

Okay…I am going out on a limb here but I am looking into my crystal ball and I see none other that Spurrier…Yep, thats right Steve Spurrier will be Auburn’s next coach…He is tired of losing at SC and he can finally get some decent recruits at the barn…Doesn’t matter though…I will love watching the Tide roll all over that bum and him crying like no one else can…THE CRYSTAL BALL HAS SPOKEN…MARK MY WORDS!!!

Yall all need mental help. I know that yall are having a giant collective orgasm over the resignation of a coach that has whooped that ass for a loooong long time. Its understandable. Buuutttt… In all honosty, Im wondering who BAMA fans think we will hire….

    What say ye ?

Speak Bammers, Who do yall think we will hire ?

Brandon, put down the crack pipe bud….There aint no way we would hire Spurrier. And hes had better recruiting classes at S. Carolina than Auburn has had anyhow. BOOK IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Turner Gill, the guy from Cincinatti, or Boise St. coach should be considered by Auburn. These 3 guys will be coaching at a BSC school in the near future.

Boise States coach is impressive. He is not one dimensional.

What about the dude from (Icant believe Im saying this) Ball State ?

Did yall know the might Cardinals are ranked like 12th!!!!!!!!!! That is the same Ball State I saw my 06 Tigers castrate to the tune of 60 something to 3. He sure turned them around. And quick.

Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech ? Maybe a little too one dimensional ?

I dont know why we keep showing up (accidentally) at the same time! I just know that Nick Saban is sneaking hundred dollar bills into recruit hands while they shake hands.
