Bryant-Denny expansion on board agenda
The highly anticipated expansion to Bryant-Denny Stadium is on Friday’s board of trustee’s agenda, according to the Bama Beat. From a financial viewpoint it will be interesting to see how the University finances the expansion. If you remember last year when the sub-prime meltdown was underway, University president Dr. Robert Witt cited economic reasons for postponing the expansion. The credit situation is much worse now, but hopefully the expansion continues to move forward.

More UT coaching search stuff
If you are keeping track of the coaching search at Tennessee, two prominent names getting mentioned are Mike Leach and Jon Gruden. Both are intriguing names for a variety of reasons, but I would think Gruden would be the better fit of the two. ProFootballTalk.com moved this report today showing that Gruden owns land in the Knoxville area. As for Leach, his name continues to get some promotion for an NFL job.

MSU shuffles line to deal with Cody
Mississippi State has faced offensive problems all season and now that the Bulldogs face a strong Alabama defense coach Sylvester Croom is taking action. Croom was quoted by the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal as saying the Bulldogs would likely use two centers to deal with Terrence Cody.

MSU is 20-point underdog
According to this AP report, the Bulldogs are a 20-point underdog to Alabama. Of course, it is weeks like this that can cause turmoil in the BCS, cautions the AP’s Ralph D. Russo in this article posted below:
