T he Rap Sheet is reporting Nick Saban hopes to have nose tackle Terrence Cody back for the LSU game.

“He’s out this week for sure,” Saban said. “We hope to have him back maybe next week.”

Saban was cautious, saying Cody is, “day to day, making good progress. He was running and jogging this week.”

I also wanted to point readers to an excellent feature also produced by Ian Rapoport. He produced this story on Roy Upchurch in Tuesday’s Birmingham News. It is an excellent read and provides a real glimpse at what has made this Alabama team special—the players.

While I’m passing out links, all fans should consider the warning from Memphis Tider in his post today. He simply reminds everyone you can’t take any team lightly.

The big game this week is Georgia-Florida. The winner will win the SEC Eastern Division and face Alabama or LSU in the championship game. The one thing that sticks out in my mind about last year’s game was how completely Mark Richt out coached Urban Meyer. The storyline to the game is all about the Bulldog touchdown celebration. Even Miami’s coach had a thought about it: “Something’s going to happen in that game. I’ll guarantee you that,” Miami coach Randy Shannon said. “Something’s going to happen after what happened last year. You can book that.” Here’s a story to preview the big game.

This is great news concerning, Cody, even though the performance of his backup certainly can’t go unmentioned either. Josh Chapman truly was a blessing in disguise.

Josh Chapman has done a good job. The future is looking very bright at the Nose tackle position.
