R ivals.com released its rating formula in a post on its discussion forums today. And it is as clear as is the summer’s sun. Kind of.
It’s a very basic formula, which I’m going to explain in general, and then show you what goes into each part:
H * ( n / ( n + m ) ) + L * ( m / ( n + m ) )
At this point my eyes glazed over, but I did read this important part:
So, shorthand: AS N GETS HIGHER, A TEAM’S SCORE APPROACHES ITS H. AS N GETS LOWER A TEAM’S SCORE APPROACHES ITS L.

As for me, I think Luginbill’s subjective system makes more sense.
Reading that makes me want to go back to the days when every recruit was five-star, blue chip, all-everything.
