BREAKING: NAMB caught with MORE women pastors in churches

Alert Urgent Breaking News

Conservative website shows five churches linked to Southern Baptist Convention church planting efforts that claim to have women pastors.

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention was caught with even more women pastors serving in affiliated churches. In a post at Conservative Resurgence: Voices, five churches were detailed promoting egalitarianism. Two of the five were previously reported by the Capstone Report here and here. Three new ones show what conservatives claim is an “Egalitarian Drift” in the SBC.

“The issue that must be addressed is whether or not we as a convention broadly and NAMB as an entity specifically approve of women serving in the role of pastor,” Nate Schlomann wrote at Conservative Resurgence: Voices. “Has the SBC, without a vote, become an egalitarian convention based on its actual practice? We must have clarity on this issue.”

Schlomann then provides screenshot evidence of churches affiliated with NAMB promoting women as pastors. One screenshot even claimed the NAMB affiliated church holds to a belief in “the God-given capacity of women to lead without limitation.”

Without limitation.

Schlomann takes issue with this based on the Baptist Faith & Message 2000. He writes:

“The BF&M2000 states in regards to the local church, ‘Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons. While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.’ Notice that the statement says ‘officers’ and ‘pastors’ in the plural. The BF&M2000 assumes that many churches will have more than one pastor, and that anyone serving in this office must be a man.

“We have observed now five current churches who claim to be following the BF&M2000, but are not. These churches are affirmed by NAMB. This SBC entity is supposed to be ensuring that our convention work is holding to our doctrinal commitments, but something has broken down in the process.”

This is a key point—SBC entities should follow the doctrine of the Southern Baptist Convention. The entities do not exist to surreptitiously change doctrine or practice. The fault rests with NAMB leadership and NAMB trustees.

Never forget the buck stops with the NAMB trustees.

According to Pravda Baptist Press, “Several trustees related being frustrated by the notion that some are putting forth that the NAMB trustees are not doing our job and that we don’t know what is going on at NAMB. Not only do we know what is going on, in most cases we initiated and, in every case, we affirm the strategies and changes that are being implemented.”

Still stand by that statement NAMB trustees?

Do you know all about and affirm this doctrinal shift involving churches affiliated with NAMB?

Or, was your statement hot air?

Do you even know what your job is as a trustee? Shouldn’t defending SBC doctrine be among the primary responsibilities?

However, it is clear that you either are enabling Kevin Ezell’s bad conduct and incompetence or you are ignorant of what is going on at NAMB. Either position makes a very good argument for not only a forensic audit but serious reform of the SBC trustee system.

We can no longer trust the trustees.

Fortunately, at least one candidate for SBC president has published a plan to reform the trustee system.

You probably should check out his plan. It looks like we need it now more than ever!

Also, what NAMB is making the case very clear that a forensic audit is not only needed but necessary.

I don’t care if you call me OLD FASHIONED. That is OK! As I have studied God’s Word and in I Timothy 2 where we go to in order to question a man about His Calling into the Ministry of God’s Word, I can find no mention of a Woman serving as a Pastor. Paul tells us, “1 Timothy 3:1-2 (KJV) (1) This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. (2) A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; He says “the HUSBAND of one wife”!
A WOMAN cannot be a Husband!
Has it gotten so bad with MEN that they are not enough Men to serve as Pastors??
