Tom Ascol in ICU, improving

An important conservative Southern Baptist leader fighting the rise of Neo-Marxism in the Southern Baptist Convention is in the Intensive Care Unit of a Florida hospital. Tom Ascol is recovering and improving after collapsing while at church Sunday morning. Initially, Ascol collapsed and was not responsive, but by Sunday evening he was improving. The improvements continued Monday, according to the family.

In an update posted on Twitter by Tom Ascol’s wife Donna, “We are overwhelmed by the expressions of concern & prayer for him & our family. He is still in ICU but is steadily improving. We face some challenges ahead but are experiencing God’s grace to be full of faith & hope. 2 Timothy 2:8.”

Ascol’s hospitalization was announced Sunday afternoon by Founders Ministries. The initial statement said, “While ministering to his church this morning, Pastor Tom Ascol of Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral Florida suddenly fell to the ground and was unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital where he now, having stable vitals, is in and out of responsiveness. We request your earnest prayers for Pastor Tom, his family, Grace Baptist Church, and Founders Ministries. We are all worshiping our good and sovereign God. We are putting our hope in the Lord Jesus Christ whose gospel is the only way of salvation. Thank you for praying with us.”
