Four Georgia football players arrested last night, at practice today

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported via Twitter that all four of the Georgia players who were arrested last night were in fact in pads and practicing today.

That Mark Richt…he is one disciplinarian.

Starting safety Tray Matthews, along with defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor, outside linebacker James DeLoach and receiver Uriah LeMay were all arrested and charged with theft by deception Monday evening. is reporting that University of Georgia chief of police Jimmy Williamson said an investigation found that three of the players received double payments for stipend checks of $71.50 issued by the Georgia athletic department.

The players deposited the paper checks through a mobile device and also cashed the checks at a convenience store, according to Williamson.

An interesting twist, Trey Matthews was one of the two Georgia players who failed to bat the Auburn hail mary away, making way for the first of two wing-and-a-prayer plays that made Auburn’s 2013 flash in the pan possible.

I guess he committed theft by deception on that night as well, impersonating an actual, trained defensive back.
