Alabama Football: Saban thanks Stoutland, wishes him well as OL coach heads for Eagles

Alabama football coach Nick Saban praised former offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland and wished him and his family well as Stoutland heads to the NFL and assistant coaching duties with the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Coach Stoutland did an excellent job with our offensive line along with each and every responsibility he had while he was here at the University of Alabama,” Saban said in a statement released by Alabama. “We appreciate all that he did in terms of his time and his dedication in contributing to the success we’ve had over the last two years. He’s an outstanding coach and he will do a great job with the Eagles. We wish him and his family the best.”

  1. Samuels was a hell of an O’lineman. Would probably do a good job. Wonder if he’s up to teaching his methods and rebuilding an O’line to Championship quality in 6 months? Nicky will decide.

    1. Here is the problem with guessing on this score. I don’t think anyone really knows. I read some speculation regarding it, but let us be honest. Who knows what is going on in Saban’s process. How far along is he in the hiring? I have been surprised before with Saban’s move when I’ve listened to the scuttlebutt.

However, if I hear anything definitive, I will share it.
