First there was the sociology program, and now Auburn’s academic problems stem off campus. Two Auburn signees allegedly had grades changed at their Mobile area high schools. The grade changes appear to have made one, if not both, students eligibile to play Division 1 college football.

An investigation has found at least one of the student athletes “pretty much know he is ineligible,” according to a report in the Mobile Press Register.

IF the grades were changed as it appears, then the grade changes were for a nefarious purpose.

Now who would have changed the grades? The students had an interest in getting the grades changed, so either they or someone close to them could have changed the grades.

Of course, others had an interest in getting the players eligible.

Who knows where the investigation will lead. At the very least, one or two of Auburn’s recruiting class won’t be eligible this Fall.
