Watch video of Alabama Crimson Tide 2013 commitment ArDarius Stewart talk about why he picked Alabama.

While most everyone is talking about the 2012 recruiting class, Alabama has already landed a few commitments for 2013. One of these is Ardarius Stewart of Fultondale. Stewart is a 6’1″, 170-lbs. quarterback/defensive back with some impressive stats. According to Scout.com, “Stewart had 199 carries for 2,188 yards and 30 touchdowns. The junior passed for 1,419 yards (68-of-123) and 20 touchdowns, 10 interceptions. Stewart had 48 tackles on defense and three interceptions with one returned for a touchdown. He also returned a kick for a 52-yard touchdown.” Also in 2010, “2A First Team All-State Athlete…..Stewart rushed for 1,146 yards and passed for 1,116 yards with 30 touchdowns.”

In the above video from CBS 42, Stewart said, “Coach Saban will give me a chance to play anything I want. I am not at a set position right now.” Picking offense or defense will have to wait until he gets on campus, the high school star told the interviewer.

On the issue of Alabama’s tradition and success ArDarius Stewart said, “I’d like to be part of the team and it is not just (the success), but also academics too and I believe I can get help there.” Stewart said the Alabama was a “great fit.” He praised the 2012 class and hopes the 2013 class will be too. “I’m glad to be part of it.”
