The AP poll of the media released Sunday was historic for the SEC. It marked the first time the Southeastern Conference (SEC) held the top 3 poll spots as LSU, Alabama and Arkansas were atop the poll, and only the second time in the history a conference has accomplished this.
The undefeated LSU team was first. Alabama at 10-1 was second. Arkansas at 10-1 was third. The Daily Bama Blog has the entire poll here.
Arkansas faces LSU this week with an SEC West title, SEC title game berth and national championship berth on the line.
This poll was historic, as AP writer Ralph Russo said via twitter: “Repeating: Only other time 1 conference had top 3 in 75-year history of AP poll was Big 8 (Neb,OU,Colo) final rankings of 1971.” (Source)

But for some of our shall we say less gifted posters, I’m going to lay out a scenario that hopefully will prepare them and keep them away from razorblades and cyanide next Sunday. – If Arky beats the Corndogs in a very close game there could be a clusterphuck ahead, and here it is. The human voters may get caught up in the moment and make Arky #1 and drop Bama to #3. Per SEC rules Bama would be eliminated for the SECCG. Arky having beat LSWho would go to Atlanta. We would then have to hope Georgia could beat Arky cause if Arky won then they would play LSWho in the BCSNCG. Disaster! There are two ways to avoid this shytstorm. The simplest is for the Corndogs to beat Arky Friday. The other is for Arky to stomp the Corndogshyt out of LSWho so that the voters would have to drop the Corndogs behind Bama.
