R euters: Kids who suffer concussions should be cleared by a doctor before they start playing sports again, and parents and coaches should be aware that young athletes take longer to recover than college and professional athletes, according to a new report in Pediatrics.     Back in the day — if you got hit — you JUST got hit — it was simple as that. And no one passed out on the field in hot weather either.

    The new generation is one of sitting inside with the comforts of AC playing PS3/xBOX360 — we were ALWAYS outside as a young one. The concussion thing is being overblown IMO due to the increasingly competitive nature of football all the way from the ranks of Pop Warner — if you ain’t hittin hard or you can’t take a pass up the middle without “taking one for the team” with horrible pass protection — then you ain’t going to make it to the “big time”.

    Just a bunch of over concerned parents/doctors.
