T he SEC published its weekly football press release, and it contained some interesting information about the conference’s football success.

The schools that currently comprise the SEC have appeared in 379 bowl games, the most of any conference in the country. In its history, the SEC is 196-170-13 in those games, a 53.4 winning percentage, also tops among all conferences.

The SEC finished the 2009 season wtih a non-conference mark of 48-10 (.828), including bowl games. The 48 wins represent the most non-conference wins in a single-season by the SEC.

For the 29th straight season, the SEC recorded the largest total attendance figure of any conference in the nation (6,560,738).

The facts clearly show that the SEC is the top conference, and clearly has been for the past 10 years… So why did it take up until last year for everyone else to acknowledge it? For the longest time all we ever heard about was PAC-10 this and ACC that… I’m glad the SEC is finally getting the recognition it deserves!!
