Slive: The SEC will maintain its position

From the AP: “If there is going to be a significant shift in the conference paradigm, the SEC will be strategic and thoughtful to make sure it maintains its position as one of the nation’s pre-eminent conferences,” Mile Slive said.

In other words, if the Big Ten becomes a 16-team super conference, don’t be surprised if the SEC becomes the second.

“I won’t sit back and just ignore what’s going on around me,” Slive said. (read more from the AP story below)

If this happens we should go after Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and North Carolina. I like adding Carolina for Basketball.

I think Texas for certain. Would like Oklahoma but Texas won’t come without A&M and there has to be 2 for the eastern division unless you want to give them Abarn. It’s fine with me. LMAO! Then for the east, Florida St and Va Tech because they draw better than Miami and anyone else in the ACC except for Fla St. I hope it doesn’t come to this. So many power houses would screwup the old conference championship regiment not to mention the fatigue and injury factor. Fuck the greedy-assed Big 10. Money is going to destroy college football as we know it, while the athletes are still virtually penniless while on schollarship and the universities fucked by the COI when they help. Kill em all and let God sort it out! RTR!

Slive is a very good businessman. He has built the SEC brand and I can assure you, HE has had feelers out to a number of colleges (including Texas, A&M, Oklahoma, Va Tech, UNC, Miami, Fla St) and I am certain that he has eyes and ears on everything Jim Delaney says or does.

You can’t just sit back and wait for something to happen. Be proactive, and you drive change. Be reactive, and you loose.

The Big 16….It is and always will be about quality, not quanity. They would do to shore up what they got before the Rose Bowl cuts their ass loose.
