Chiefs will retire Derrick Thomas’ number
According to Pro Football Talk, “The Kansas City Chiefs announced earlier today that, on December 6, they’ll retire the number of linebacker Derrick Thomas. … The number 58 will be set aside permanently by the Chiefs at halftime of a home game against the Broncos, and his family will be given his Hall of Fame ring at the same time.”

Cornerback Fernando Bryant to retire, ending 10-year NFL career
The Associated Press reports, “Fernando Bryant, a cornerback and former first-round draft pick who played 10 NFL seasons with the Jaguars, Lions and Steelers, is retiring.”

  1. Congratulations to Derrick and his family. It’s too bad the Chiefs couldn’t have come up with a few more talented players to help Derrick out so that he wouldn’t have had to spend his amazing career wallowing in the teams mediocrity. The former AFL Dallas Texans have rarely given their fan base pleasure.
