Saban lands commitment #6 for 2010

Nick Saban’s work on the 2010 recruiting class continued Monday with the commitment of Woodlands, Texas prospect Chad Lindsay. Lindsay is an offensive line prospect with over 20 scholarship offers. He picked Alabama over LSU and a host of other schools because of his relationship with the Crimson Tide coaching staff, Alabama’s academics and “student life at the Capstone,” according to

Lindsay is listed as 6’3″, 307 lbs. reports he has a 4.85 time in the 40. Also according to, “5A Texas Football 1st Team All-State and 2008 5A Texas Football All Junior Team. Chad is the son of former Mississippi State offensive lineman Duff Lindsay (77-80).”

ESPN ranks Lindsay as one of the ESPN150 Watch List for the Class of 2010. According to ESPN, “Lindsay is an excellent offensive guard. His has more than adequate size and is able to play with good pad level without getting too high. Good overall agility for a lineman along with upper body strength and powerful hips. Carries his weight extremely well and has little problem being able to react to moving defenders. Exceptional when on the move and in space. A ferocious puller and trapper; comes out of his stance with proper footwork and fundamentals.”

    Benches 425 pounds and is scheduled to finish high school in Jan. and be ready for spring practice. Do you think Saban is hiding the fact the NCAA is going to yell at us. Looks like it don’t matter when a stand out kid wants to go to a winning school.
