David French’s political theology weighed and found wanting

Donald Trump did more for Christian government than David French ever will

David French is outraged that Donald Trump might run for re-election and if Trump wins, then punish the Deep State.

French admitted this in concern in his latest Sunday column, “Axios reported this week on potential Trump plans for a second term, including a radical civil service reform that could lead to the government being stocked not with thousands of Trumpist officials, but with tens of thousands—discipled by Trump, imitating Trump, devoted to Trump.”

French prefers tens of thousands like Lois Lerner or Eric Holder instead of conservatives . That reveals much about just how far Left David French moved. He should just come out of the closet and admit who and what he is—a Democrat.

He has friends like lifelong Democrat Russell Moore. Moore spent his entire time at the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) attempting to push the SBC leftward. It is why the entire denomination is drifting leftward at this very moment with Woke infiltration in our seminaries and in our pulpits.

David French fears Donald Trump.

He fears Donald Trump because unlike the losers of the Republican Party like Mitt Romney, Trump wants to win and fights to win. That is why despite the work of David French and Russell Moore to stop Trump, Christians overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump.

And God rewarded the wisdom of the average Christian over the wicked Evangelical Elites.

The moral bankruptcy of David French and Russell Moore was written as clearly by the Supreme Court in Dobbs as the finger writing MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN on the wall of the Babylonian palace.

Alito wrote, “The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”

When Alito wrote that, David French’s hate for Trump became irrational. French’s political theology was weighed and found wanting because it would’ve continued baby murder.

The shocking thing is that many Never Trumpers would actually prefer continued abortion to Donald Trump’s winning in 2016. Karen Swallow Prior admitted she’d prefer 60 million more dead babies than Donald Trump as President. And these are so-called Christians!

David French is the blind trying to lead people who can see

David French’s political theology is like a blind man trying to lead those who can see.

French thinks that Christians should not vote for Trump because of Trump’s record. However, for those not blinded by hate, Trump truly was the most pro-life American president. It was Trump’s appointments that gave us victory over Roe. And Trump did more to protect American Christians from persecution by Democrats than we could have rightly expected.

Now, as Democrats increase their anti-Christian rhetoric. As church burnings and attacks on Crisis Pregnancy Centers mount—without any response from the Biden Administration—French thinks he can argue the patently absurd position that Democrats present no greater threat and in fact perhaps less of a threat than Donald Trump.

None can take David French seriously.

We experienced the four years of Trump. And it was good.

Is Trump perfect? No.

Is Trump a Christian? Doubtful.

Is Trump better than any Democrat? Demonstrably.

As the great Norm Geisler pointed out in 2016, a Christian does not pick his brain surgeon based on who is the best Christian but rather on who is the best brain surgeon. This is reasonable.

There are certain qualifications that one can have independent of one’s faith. For example, being good with math is not required to be a follower of Jesus; however, it is necessary to work in Physics.

While a willingness to fight is not a virtue in private life, it is sometimes necessary in both politics. In those situations, an unwillingness to fight is not a virtue but a vice.

Given the success of the Trump years and the vitriol from French, which shows the greater political virtue and which the greater political vice? French is found wanting in the virtue department.

But note that French does not only attack Trump. His column takes aim at other conservatives like Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz.

This shows French is not so much upset at Trump but at all Republicans who stand up against Leftists.

Christians should feel free to ignore French. Not only is he bad at politics as his Sunday column demonstrates, but French is also bad at being a Christian. You can see in a Saturday video that French and his friend think that Bible reading in schools was a bad idea.

French political theology is morally bankrupt and anti-Christian. Donald Trump is better. Much better even with all Trump’s flaws.
