Conservative Evangelical leader calls on progressive Evangelical leaders promoting the Social Justice Gospel to resign
Josh Buice, founder of G3 Ministries, called on progressive Evangelical leaders promoting the Social Justice Movement and Grievance Gospel to resign their denominational posts. Dr. Buice singled out two prominent Southern Baptist promoters of Neo-Marxist ideology—Russell Moore, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), and Ed Stetzer, former LifeWay VP and SBC Resolutions Committee Chairman.
During a Panel Discussion at the Great Awokening Conference, Buice said denominational leaders have a responsibility to stand on the Sufficiency of Scripture, and that Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Intersectionality are a threat to this doctrine.
“So, when you hear of this Standpoint Epistemology—this lived experience that is necessary to be able to address various within the social atmosphere—that is a flat denial of the Sufficiency of Scripture,” Buice said. “When you hear of Resolution 9 and Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality as analytical tools—that is flat denial of the Sufficiency of Scripture. So, I would say to people like Ed Stetzer and I would say to people like Russell Moore, if you will not stand on the Sufficiency of Scripture for the good of the churches that you represent, then you should just resign.”
Who is Ed Stetzer?
Ed Stetzer was named 2020 Resolutions Committee Chairman for the SBC Annual Meeting by SBC President J.D. Greear. As you might remember, Greear said it was “Great” if Christians voted for Democrats and urged the tearing down of all hierarchy and said Christians and Muslims worship the same God.
Stetzer is currently a professor at Wheaton College and a prominent figure in promoting Woke, Social Justice concepts.
Also, Stetzer blogs for Christianity Today. Julie Roys reported Stetzer engaged in serious journalistic malpractice by accepting a car from disgraced megachurch pastor James MacDonald.
Who is Russell Moore?
Moore is president of the ERLC and a noted Never Trumper. Dr. Moore’s ERLC fought against the Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel, according to newly revealed information. Also, Moore took personal action to suppress conservative seminary professors worried about the Leftward Drift of the Southern Baptist Convention, according to Buice during his presentation on the Grievance Gospel at the Sovereign Nations Great Awokening Conference.
According to Dr. Buice, a Southern Baptist seminary professor re-tweeted Buice’s blog post, The SBC at the Intersection of Intersectionality, and that did not go over well with SBC Elites. In fact, the head of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) of the Southern Baptist Convention complained to the seminary administration.
“A professor in one of the SBC schools that retweeted that article out, and within a couple of hours, Russell Moore, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, called his Provost at his school and had him delete that tweet,” Buice said.
The reason?
“Because he said it was spreading things that were not true about the convention,” Buice said.
And Moore slandered conservatives promoting the Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel.
“After the release of the Statement on Social Justice, Russell Moore suggested that the goal of the Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel was primarily about race,” Buice said. “He talked to Lauren Green of Fox News in an interview, where he stated the following about the Social Justice Statement: ‘What we are really talking about is race, and so I think we have a long issue within evangelicalism of people saying, let’s not talk about issues of racial reconciliation and unity and justice. That would be a distraction from the Gospel. That was exactly what was happening in the nineteenth century as it related to human slavery. That was exactly what was happening in the 1920s and 1950s as it related to Jim Crow. And it persists among us.’ Well, in that very interview, what he was saying about us—those of us who were the original crafters of this statement is that we seem to be aligned with the Jim Crow Era. The main focus of the statement itself is actually not all about race. Out of the fourteen articles, the statement contains two that focus on race and twelve others that focus on other matters including biblical, manhood and womanhood and the mission of the church, which is Christo-centric with this Gospel of Jesus, the message of Christ at the center.”

Buice urged conservative Christians to stand against the Grievance Gospel.
“The Revolution of the Social Justice must be opposed,” Buice said. “It must be rejected as another Gospel.” Buice then explained there is only one Gospel—that focuses on Jesus and His atoning work on the Cross that redeems man to God. This contrasts with the Grievance Gospel.
“It is the Gospel of Jesus that is good news. It the Gospel of Jesus that unifies. It is the Gospel of Jesus that saves. But, it is the Gospel of Grievance that damns,” Buice said. “The Church of Jesus does not need to be called to a new revolution, a new movement or a Woke Revival. The Church of Jesus does not need Intersectionality, ethnic pragmatism, Critical Race Theory or Social Justice. We need The Gospel of Jesus.”

Do you know if Ed Stezer is even a current member of a cooperating SBC church? If so which one? I understand he is currently pastor of a non SBC church, if so why would a pastor of a non SBC church be asked to serve in anyway in the SBC? Is this not against the SBC rules?
