The Southeastern Conference (SEC) released a statement regarding a Monday meeting of its presidents and chancellors. The SEC said the meeting discussed the “changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics.”

However, the SEC said it took no action on the issue of conference expansion/realignment.

The official release follows:

“The Presidents and Chancellors of the Southeastern Conference met on Monday for its regularly-scheduled fall meeting. While they discussed a wide range of issues dealing with the changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics, no actions were taken with regards to expansion.” (SOURCE)

It looks like a few more days of speculation before anyone knows the fate of Missouri or the next move by the SEC. Will the SEC expand to prevent a nightmare 13-team schedule in 2012? It seems likely, but fans must wait on further details from the latest round of SEC meetings.

  1. Unless there is a super double secret bombshell waiting to be dropped, there are only 2 BCS conference teams seeking SEC affiliation at the moment. Mizzou and WVU. God I hope it’s neither one. Although I’ll have to admit aTm and either one of those two more than trumps the Big 10’s Nebraska, the Pac 12’s Colorado and Utah, and the ACC’s what the hell ever – Cincinatti and Pitt is it? Let what’s left ofthe Big 1-Little 7 and Big East merge or cannibalize each other – who cares. Can you believe there are actually people suggesting that Ole Miss leave the SEC. They see no future in being competative here and see beating the preseason WAC favorite Fresno State as an indication that they could win that conference most years. Of course it’s all bullshyt, but it just shows how far a proud program has fallen and what this dumbazz conference expansion crap has inspired. Phuck ESPN and their money packages that make school and conference administrators money grabbing Scrooges. RTR!

  2. I hope we all give Missouri the middle finger and look elsewhere. They do not fit in geographically or culturally with the SEC. Why not Virginia Tech? IF we don’t want to pick up a team in the same state, why not get Va Tech or NCSTate. Va Tech would add a lot in football

  3. Va Tech and NC are in a solvent conference with a huge tv deal of its own ans it’s growing by raiding the Big East. Those two schools aren’t about to buck the penalties and hate they would get by leaving the ACC. And the SEC cannot make overtures to them at the risk of a huge lawsuit. So like I said, unless there is a huge secret bombshell about to drop, the SEC is stuck with Mizzou or West Va if we’re intent on going to 14 this year. Yuck!

  4. THE GREAT ACC HAS ADDED THE PITTSBURGH PANTHERS AND THE SYRACUSE ORANGE!! THE SEC CAN’T FIND A 14TH TEAM!! YOU REALLY SHOULD TAKE WEST VIRGINIA! IT FITS THE SEC STATE WISE AND ACADEMIC WISE!!
