Alabama Crimson Tide star Mark Barron is about 90 percent healed from his injury suffered in the Auburn game. Barron provided that update on his status at SEC Media Days 2011.

“I wouldn’t say I’m 100 percent,” Barron said. “Probably 90 percent.”

Barron said scar tissue must “break up” before the defensive back is 100 percent.

As for the 2011 defense, Barron said the squad wants to be known for a don’t quit attitude.

Alabama’s Mark Barron said, “They don’t quit. They finish. Always.”

An early season game against Penn State and a few early key games in the SEC provides pressure for the team to get everyone ready and focused early.

“That’s something we’re trying to get established, get everyone on the same page,” Barron said. “Like minds move mountains. If we can have everyone on the same page, there’s nothing we can’t do.”

Nothing the team can’t do. Like win a national championship?

“We want to come out and win a national championship, to be undefeated,” Barron said. “Every time we step out on the field, one of our motivating factors is to be special.”
