note: Dale sent this note in last night, but I was away from my laptop. Posting it this morning as it reflects the feelings of so many.

To all of my University of Alabama friends.

I have spent a lot of time in Tuscaloosa over the years and the sights and reports I am hearing regarding the tornado in Tuscaloosa are tragic.

I am calling on sports fans, no matter if you are a Vol, a Tiger, a Gator, a Gamecock, or a Blazer to come together and do whatever we can do to help out our friends in T-Town.

May God have mercy and may the loss of life be minimal.

Dale Jones

  1. I know we get on here and bash each other. Today is NOT a day for that. I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to those who have lost friends and family in yesterdays storms, and also to those who suffered other losses.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  2. Been helping with storm damage in NW Ga. today. The damage in Alabama/Ttown is much worse.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  3. I wish I could be there to help. My heart and prayers go out to everyone in Tuscaloosa and the rest of Alabama.

  4. The above comments pretty well says it all. My thoughts and prayers are for all the victims of the storms that hit all areas of our state. May God Bless each and everyone…….

  5. I grew up in Phil Campbell, Alabama. I sm still overseas But I hear the fatilities, the injured and the missing is something like a 30%-40% rate. For a town of less than a 1,000 that is humbling. The news from home seems to get worse with each person I talk to.
But. We Alabamians are a tough strong and proud people. We never quit. A tornado could wipe away everything in the state tommorow. But it wont extinguish the fire that is our spirit. We will overcome this. And we will come back stronger.
I am so utterly proud to be from Alabama.

  6. Yeah just getting my cable and internet service back, so I can’t say anything that hasnt already been said. I have several friends in Pleasant Grove who have nothing, and I’m sure most of you do know someone thats been affected by the tornado. Just for a little while, from the bottom of my heart I give you a Rollll Tideeee!!!! Shhh… don’t tell anyone else…. kidding. Seriously, my heart goes out to you guys.

  7. The comments here make me even more proud than normal to call Alabama my home.
