Here is the official press release with all the details:

D.J. Fluker, Dee Milliner and C.J. Mosley garner first-team Freshman All-America honors

D.J. Fluker, Dee Milliner and C.J. Mosley have all garnered first-team Freshman All-America honors after outstanding seasons for the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2010.

The honors were released by Rivals.com, CollegeFootballNews.com and Phil Steele. Fluker was a first-team pick by CollegeFootballNews.com while Milliner was first-team selection by Phil Steele, and CollegeFootballNews.com. Mosley was a first-team choice by Rivals.com and CollegeFootballNews.com and a second-team choice by Phil Steele.

Mosley, a linebacker from Theodore, Ala., is third on the team in tackles (66) with two interception returns for touchdowns and a team-high eight pass breakups. He started three games at mike linebacker in nickel formations for the Tide and registered five or more tackles in nine games. He set a career-high with 12 stops against Mississippi State.

Milliner, a cornerback from Millbrook, Ala., has 52 tackles to rank fourth on the team while breaking up five passes and making one interception. He started 10 games at cornerback as a true freshman and made seven or more tackles in four games, including a season-high nine stops against Auburn. Milliner also recorded four tackles for loss, which was the most of any Tide player in the secondary.

Fluker, who hails from Foley, Ala., started eight games at right tackle, clearing a path for 435.6 yards of offense per game, the second-highest total in school history. He was the opening-game starter and only missed time along the offensive line after an injury in the South Carolina game.

  1. Future looks bright! Next 5 years, I’m guessing couple of NC’s and 4 to 5 SEC titles. We should win the West easily over the next 5 years, with the possibility of LSU sneaking in there.

  2. Yep. Combine that with this:

The Crimson Tide signed Arizona Western defensive lineman Jesse Williams (6-4, 330), who is rated by most as the top player in the nation, teammate Aaron Douglas (6-5, 285), and East Mississippi Community College defensive lineman Quinton Dial (6-6, 315). All three were ranked in the top 50 among JUCO players by Rivals.com.

Plus another top recruiting class like the one that is shaping up now, Bama will be back in contention very soon. No other SEC team is keeping pace with Bama in recruiting. There are only 6 starters that are seniors, maybe a few juniors leave early, but the core of the offensive line will be back and the defense will be much improved next season. LSU, Ark, will be the teams to beat with Auburn falling near the bottom next season. I don’t see them having a dominant offensive line next year losing 4 starters, and 8 defensive players are gone. Lots of holes to fill, and one good recruiting class isn’t enough to do it. Plus the leadership that will be missing, and a tough road schedule. It will be a rebuilding year for Auburn next season.

  3. you need to check the spelling when you write an post on website, stayed that 3 alabama players earn FROSH All-AMERICA Honors, it should read “3 Alabama player earn Freshman All-America honors”. i’m looking for a new reprint think you.
