CNBC’s Darren Rovell knows the storyline of the night better than anyone. While fans were watching the NFL Draft, Rovell had one eye on Twitter and noticed an interesting trend that occurred right after the Miami Dolphins selected Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill. According to Rovell via Twitter, “In the first 10 minutes after Ryan Tannehill was selected, there were more than 800 tweets about his girlfriend. …Check that: Tannehill got married to her in January.”

So, I had to check Google.

It is obvious, Tannehill is a winner.

Tannehill married Lauren Ashley Ufer January 13, 2012. Lauren Ufer is also a model. Alabama Fax Girl from National Signing Day 2011 Fax Cam

The University of Alabama will use Tide TV to present coverage of Alabama’s 2012 National Signing Day. Anchoring the live coverage will be Chris Stewart and Christopher England. Unfortunately, there is no mention of Fax Girl in this year’s coverage package. There will be a stream of the updating commitment board, and that means there might still be a slim element of hope. That stream goes live at 7 a.m. and is separate from the 9 a.m.-11 a.m. show.

TideTV will Air National Signing Day Show from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday

Alabama head coach Nick Saban will meet the media at 4 p.m. in the Naylor Stone Media Room
The University of Alabama will produce a two-hour National Signing Day Show on TideTV that can be viewed from 9-11 a.m. on RollTide.com and beginning at 11 a.m. on WVUA. Alabama head coach Nick Saban will then wrap up the day’s proceedings with a press conference at 4 p.m. in the Naylor Stone Media Room.

The TideTV production will be hosted by Chris Stewart and will include biographical information on the signee as well as video highlights. Joining Stewart will be TideTV’s Christopher England, who will introduce Alabama’s latest signee and have phone interviews with a select group of those signees.

There will also be a separate stream of the “Big Board” that will give fans immediate knowledge of the Crimson Tide’s latest letters of intent. The “Big Board” stream will go live at 7 a.m. on TideTV.

ESPN will also be on site in Tuscaloosa and reporting throughout the day with live signing day coverage.

Biographical information and links to signee highlights will be immediately available at RollTide.com. The latest NLIs will also be tweeted out @AlabamaFTBL and posted to Facebook at Alabama-Football as soon as they are available.

A University of Alabama student is the star of a new reality television series. CMT will showcase Devin Grissom in “Sweet Home Alabama.” The show features a southern belle searching for Mr. Right. The show premiers tonight on CMT. According to the network’s website episode 1 features: “Devin, a beautiful young Southern belle, begins her search for love by meeting 20 eligible suitors. Ten of them are traditional Southern gentlemen, and the other 10 are city slickers, who have come to the country with the intention of stealing her heart. The cultures clash in the house as the competition begins and rivalries emerge. Four potential suitors are dropped from contention.” The show premieres tonight at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

In the video below you can watch Grissom declare she is now a “Bama Girl” who “bleeds Crimson.” She declares, “Roll Tide Roll.” She attends the University of Alabama and is a public relations major.

It is National Signing Day 2011 and the University of Alabama is doing very well at this point of the day. The pleasant news that Pagan signed with Alabama was probably the biggest news of the day thus far.

But the real story of the day isn’t the recruits, the rankings or all the allegations that one school or another is cheating.

The most important thing of the day is Fax Cam available at RollTide.com.

This innovation allows Alabama fans to view the fax machine as it receives the official paperwork from recruits.

Yes. Fans really are willing to stare at a fax machine as names come rolling in.

Of course, there was a better reason to watch fax cam.

Fax girls.

The University’s athletic department wisely allows some attractive women wearing short skirts to retrieve the faxes and post a list of the new signees.

It is the most interesting innovation in television since MTV launched the Real World or CBS gave us I Love Lucy.

If UA were smart, it would expand Fax Girl’s role. Perhaps keeping fax cam for everyday faxes. They could retrieve faxes for Mal Moore one day and then Nick Saban the next. Five days a week. All fax cam.

I know I’d tune in. I’m betting a few other guys would too.
