If VCU coach Anthony Grant said ‘No’ to the Alabama Crimson Tide, would Mike Anderson be off the table? Probably, if you believe there is a behind the scenes issue as rumored; however, one area that might not be a problem is salary.

According to reports, Grant was offered a salary in the range of $2.1 and $2.4 million per year.

Missouri is in the midst of talks to keep Anderson. The school will give him more money and an extension; however, Alabama could offer considerably more. According to the AP, “The Kansas City Star reported Friday that Missouri is ready to raise Anderson’s $850,000 annual salary to at least $1.3 million and renew his contract for five years.”

Anderson is worth much more than $1.3 million per year. Alabama could afford it if Grant says no. But will the Crimson Tide?
