Speaker for Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty 2019 National Conference hates America.

A writer and speaker platformed by the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission attacked the idea of America as a Christian nation and called America a murderous nation since its beginning.

Jackie Hill Perry tweeted, “America isn’t a Christian nation. It’s a murderous one and it has been since its inception.”

Perry is a prominent evangelical platformed by the ERLC with many podcast and video presentations on the Southern Baptist public policy website.

Perry is listed as a prominent speaker at the 2019 ERLC National Conference scheduled for October 3-5 in Grapevine, Texas, according to a press release from the Southern Baptist ERLC’s website.

Also on the ERLC national conference speaker’s list is ERLC head Dr. Russell Moore and President of the Southern Baptist Convention J.D. Greear.

Perry spoke at the ERLC’s MLK50 conference. You can find a list of podcasts and conference events hosted by the ERLC on the Southern Baptist entity’s website. This morning, there were two pages of video and audio on the ERLC website featuring the evangelical who declared America a “murderous nation…since its inception.”

Do you want your tithes and offerings going to support this anti-American rhetoric?

This is not the first case of someone associated with the ERLC mocking the idea of a Christian America. One ERLC Research Fellow claimed the idea of a Christian America is un-Christian and un-American. Later, an ERLC Research Fellow called nationalism “gross.”

If you are reading this, you might be shocked and wondering what is going wrong in the Southern Baptist Convention?

The answer is simple: godless ideologies of Identity Politics have gained a foothold in our institutions and churches. It is time for conservatives to stand up and say to evangelical elites that they must stop promoting what can destroy the church and our country.
