The two-time defending Alabama Crimson Tide held its annual Fan Day at Bryant-Denny Stadium yesterday, going through a brief workout before making coaches and players available for autographs. Here is some footage, courtesy of al.com:

The highly coveted WR Robert Foster; it isn’t just his number that reminds you of Julio:

Defensive backs working with Coach Saban:

Inside linebackers working with Coach Smart:

One item of note, when asked by a member of the media how freshman linebacking sensation Reuben Foster was developing, Coach Smart chirped back “First of all we have to get pads on,” Smart said. “My measure of a football player certainly comes when people put pads on. I’ve seen a lot of good players in shorts that weren’t good players with pads on. It’s a physical, tough game in the SEC.” Oh, the stupid media.

And finally, speaking of stupid, we at CapstoneReport.com are not shy about our criticisms of Alabama’s opponents, rivals, and when the shoe fits, the Tide itself. This site, after all, was born under original URL of “FireCoachShula.com”. Below, watch and enjoy the annual 100-yard sprint by fans to get coach and player autographs in an event that can only be titled, “The Running of the Gumps”:

Simply embarrassing.
