The Alabama captains for the LSU game were Damion Square, Robert Lester and Chance Warmack. Alabama won the toss and elected to defer the opening kickoff.

Series Notes
With the win, Alabama leads the series with LSU, 47-25-5.

With the win tonight, Alabama has a 25-9-2 record against LSU in Baton Rouge.
Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban improves to 4-4 in his career against LSU.

General Notes
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has led the Crimson Tide to a 14-7 record in November, with four of the losses coming in 2007.

With the win, Alabama improves to 21-6 against the Associated Press Top 25 over the past four seasons and 12-4 against AP top 10 teams.

With the win, the Crimson Tide is 58-3 when leading at half time under head coach Nick Saban.

Tonight’s attendance was 93,374. A new Tiger Stadium record.

Offensive Notes
With Eddie Lacy’s 7-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, Alabama raised its current total of consecutive games in which it scored to 151 – the longest streak in program history.

Alabama and Louisiana Tech are the only two remaining teams that have not thrown an interception this season. It has been 12 1/2 games since a Crimson Tide quarterback threw an interception, which is the longest streak in the nation.

Alabama has scored at least one rushing touchdown in all but one game this season. The Tide has scored two or more in six games, including four in a row.

Defensive Notes
Alabama has allowed three points or less heading into halftime five times this season. The Tide has allowed a touchdown or less eight times this season. Alabama has outscored its opponents, 222-34 in the first half through nine games.

Special Teams Notes
Senior Jeremy Shelley is the only kicker across the nation yet to miss an extra point or a field goal in 2012. Thus far, Shelley has hit all 45 of his extra point attempts and all nine of his field goals. Navy kicker Nick Sloan missed two field goals today against Florida Atlantic.

Career Watch
AJ McCarron continues to build his school record of passes without an interception. McCarron ends the LSU game with an active streak of 289 passing attempts without an interception.

With one touchdown pass tonight, AJ McCarron has 38 career touchdown passes. That total ranks 4th in Alabama history behind John Parker Wilson (47 – 2005-08), Brodie Croyle (41 – 2002-05) and Greg McElroy (39 – 2007-10).

McCarron’s 19 touchdown passes this season ranks him second on the Alabama single-season passing touchdowns, moving ahead of John Parker Wilson, who also threw for 18 touchdowns in 2007. Greg McElroy holds the single-season passing touchdowns mark with 20, set in 2010.

Next Game
Alabama welcomes SEC newcomer Texas A&M to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, November 10. Alabama leads the series 3-1 and has won the last two contests against the Aggies.

  1. Will be a tough game. Will be even tougher to get the essential motivation for. Hope that pass defense was not a recipie for future opponents. Not only were recievers left wide ass open’ but many passes were thrown away from the defender making it impossible to break it up. Same technique AJ used in the BCSNCG. I got a feeling Johnny Football can throw those things all day long.
