Alabama running back Trent Richardson is the best running back available in the 2012 NFL Draft. But just how good is he? Listen to what Pro Football Weekly’s draft expert said about him.

PFW’s Draft Expert Nolan Nawrocki on Alabama running back Trent Richardson and the 2012 NFL Draft: “In Richardson’s case, you are talking about an elite, franchise-type running back…I think he walks in the league day one and is on an equal playing field with guys like Adrian Peterson, Michael Turner, Steven Jackson. I think he is a Top Five back and should be paid like one.”

This comment on Richardson comes at about the 2:40 mark of this Pro Football Weekly Video.

Richardson is 5’9”, 228 lbs., 30 ¼” arm length, with 9 1/2” hands, according to measurements from the NFL. At Alabama Richardson posted 1,679 yards on 283 carries for a 5.9 yard per carry average and 21 touchdowns. He caught 29 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns. In the 2009 and 2010 seasons, Richardson shared time with running back Mark Ingram. Both of those years, Richardson posted over 700 yards rushing.
