The Red Elephant Club has gotten to the New York Times, Fox Sports, ESPN and now National Public Radio. On NPR today, Frank Deford blasted Auburn. And of course it is Alabama’s fault and its minions in the national press.

According to the official transcript, “It’s certainly worth highlighting that the two prime incumbent NCAA champions Auburn in football, UConn in basketball are both current offenders. UConn convicted; Auburn, already a serial cheat, under investigation once again.” (Source: NPR transcript).

Ouch.

Serial cheats.

It can’t be good for Auburn’s national perception when NPR is talking about the program and its latest NCAA troubles.

Thoughts?

  1. Everyone knows Auburn is the poster boy for cheating in college football. Except for the Cult fan base they have, that is.

  2. Toomer’s Corner story or weak Ttown Menswear rehash deflection story coming in 3…2…1…

  3. If the truth hurts – PHUCK IT!!!!!! Bwaa haww haww! RTR! Ok dammit, who did Winston commit to?

      1. Yeah I just read it on Tide Sports. Thanks. I figured FSU since he still hasn’t decided if he’s going to play football or go for the dough in Pro Baseball. FSU is more offensive minded than Bama and the Administration has let our baseball program stagnate for a bunch of years now. Of course LSU has an even better baseball program than FSU, but their offensive philosophy sucks and Florida is a lot more fun than the swamps around Baton Rouge.

  4. The headline should read “Frank Deford calls Alabama a ‘serial cheat’”!

        1. Do they have a fourth grade in Tennessee? Shoot, Vol didn’t even NEED the 4th grade.

I understand Idiot Vol is the most intelligent prodigy of the UT fanbase, and they are very proud of his contributions here. His prowess for out-smartin’ us Bammers shows in each and every post. He sure makes me feel dumb.

  5. People always hate on winners. Lets be patient and allow the true experts who have all of the information (NCAA) to make the correct call. Not some commentator who works for NPR and incorrectly calls us offenders before we are convicted of said offense.

    1. you have already been convicted more than anyone else in the SEC. Hence the term ‘serial’.

      1. Here is the quote…

“It’s certainly worth highlighting that the two prime incumbent NCAA champions Auburn in football, UConn in basketball are both current offenders.

The word “Current” would refer to this season.. ie present tense. He is saying that we are now offenders. Now if he had said “PAST” offenders then I could understand what you are saying.

        1. Here is the part you left out:

“It’s certainly worth highlighting that the two prime incumbent NCAA champions Auburn in football, UConn in basketball are both current offenders. UConn convicted; Auburn, already a serial cheat, under investigation once again.”

I notice that deflection and denial affects your reading comprehension skills as well.

  6. Auburnrocks:

the problem is Auburn was only a big winner last year including the Camback because of their lying POS ex-Qb and his pimp father

  7. Auburnrocks, he wasn’t just referencing the massive investigation continuing for 10 months. He was referencing Awbarn’s dismal history with the NCAA. Now you can say that it’s Bama who’s been on probation for most of two decades. But only one of those charges was major. While Awburn has been on probation off and on for over 50 years. Hell you even managed to get on probation in 1957 when the NCAA itself was corrupt. Bwaa haww haww. And you’ve been on probation for major violations during the time Bama’s been on probation also. Not to mention the suspicion of masssive major violations right now. The truth is, despite one NCAA bitch’s loud mouthed, predjudiced, uninformed opinion about Bama being serial offenders, the real truth is that Awburn is the classic definition of a serial offender with a 50+ year ongoing record. And if you’re proven to be guilty of all the shyt that you’re suspected of, then I hope the NCAA turns out to be serial killers. ROTFLMMFAO! RTR!

  8. @Auburnrocks- if everyone loves to hate winners the world is wait ,the universe is gonna love you and absolutely adore you guys this season.

  9. Coming from a communist liberal NPR, who cares? I guess you guys love on hairy women who wear Pachooli, and listen to NPR to help you think, not this conservative. Keep listening to NPR, it helps me put you in a nice stereotypical box.

    1. Deny Deny Deny. Good luck making it to a bowl game. Sorry you have a hard time with the truth that your program is the epitome of pay-for-play in college football. Your coach is a joke, Auburns fans live in a cult-like fantasy land, and your day of reckoning will be here before you know it. Auburn football is about to take a turn for the worse.

      1. Our coach didnt get outcoached by Spurrier or Miles last year. How did yours fair? Ouch.

        Finish my ass Saban

        1. Even a blind monkey will eventually throw a dart and hit the bulls-eye. Enjoy your once-in-a-lifetime fluke season. You won’t repeat it this year.

  10. Nicket,

Your statement alone puts you in a stereotypical box, and sets the South back to the Cold War

  11. What the hell did Nicket just post? Does he even know? What is Pachooli? How does hairy women and NPR relate? Is Frank DeFord a communist liberal? Why is the sentence structure so stupid?

    Geez…

Speaking of “stereotypical box”, I believe DeFord put Auburn in one labeled “Serial Cheater”. Not that they haven’t earned that label.

WDE !! (We Deny Everything !!)

  12. Your coach is a hateful little Smurf who said on the sideline on national TV, I hate those MFers and your Qback shot our fans a bird. Now that’s awlful classy. We will see how your little team holds up to that 2 ranking after Arky powerdrives your team into pulp. We will be so ready to beat that ass again this year at AU. Going to the game with a cigar not a moonpie like your fans.

  13. Your coach is just a puppet for the boosters to control, and has to resort to cheap, towel waving tactics and limousine rides to recruit. (Not to mention the pay-for-play that Auburn is so popular for.) How dumb is the head coach when he didn’t even know that the NCAA has been investigating his star player when it is known by the rest of the country?

I too, will be looking forward to the Auburn beatdown this year, and be careful with that cigar. It may just blow up in your face, just like everything else has for Auburn these days.
