Alabama Crimson Tide football player Dee Hart underwent surgery Thursday morning for a knee injury. News of Hart’s injury summer conditioning broke yesterday (SEE: Alabama football RB Dee Hart injured). According to reports, Hart was injured during summer workouts. Today, Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban confirmed Hart’s injury, and provided some new information.

Saban said Hart had surgery Thursday morning in Orlando, Florida. Saban confirmed the injury occurred during summer conditioning work. The Alabama football coach also said the Alabama football player’s status was to be determined later. The official statement from Saban and Alabama follows below:

Alabama freshman running back Dee Hart (Orlando, Fla.) had knee surgery on Thursday morning.

“Dee Hart underwent knee surgery today with Dr. Lyle Cain for an injury sustained in the summer conditioning program,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “His status for the upcoming season will be determined at a later date.”

  1. Was really looking forward to seeing Dee play this year. In fact there are several athletes I’m interested in seeing. This class could be another ’08 with several stars contributing in the same light as Julio, Mark, Cody and D’onta in their true freshman seasons. Hope he can shake it off. By the way I really like your new format – on my computer – but it sucks on a cell phone. Not everybody has an I-phone or Android – or want’s one for that matter. RTR!
