Several drugs were found in the body of Aaron Douglas, according to the autopsy report that was finally made public by a television report last night. WVLT, GoVolxXtra and al.com reported the story. According to WVLT, “A medical examiner says he died from having multiple drugs in his body, including Methadone and Diazepam.”

He was named the SEC offensive lineman of the Week following the Vols win over Memphis in 2009 and earned Freshman All-SEC honors from league coaches.”

Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said at the time of Douglas’ death, “It is a tragedy anytime you lose someone close to you and even more so when it is a member of your family. Aaron was a part of our family and always will be a part of our family at Alabama. He was an outstanding young man and we were excited about what he had accomplished as a player and a person in the short time he was with us.”

  1. The kid certainly had a bright football future. If there was just some way to get through to him to be a winner of the field also. I’ve already prayed for his family.

  2. Another example to kids and everybody else why not to use drugs. Kid had a bright future, so sorry to see his life end so young. Sympathy to his family…
