Scabs sings a new song
At this website we openly critique the work of what we feel is a very biased state media. That media seems to paint a rosy picture in Lee County despite the barns being on fire, all while watching every movement in Tuscaloosa under a microscope.

One such writer has been the Birmingham News’ Kevin Scarbinsky. However, today Scarbo put the truth down on paper better than I could have done myself. The article, targeted at Auburn’s decision to erect a statue of Cam Newton, is a must read.

A few excerpts:

“Building a statue of Newton at this point borders on reckless. Isn’t it wildly premature to start work on that tribute before the NCAA investigation into his recruitment is closed?”

“(Auburn AD Jay Jacobs) dismissed the notion that Auburn would copy-cat Alabama by expanding Jordan-Hare Stadium. No doubt Auburn would say it’s not building statues of its legendary players – and adding a bust of former coach John Heisman – because Alabama has built statues of its legendary coaches. But consider the coincidence.”

<a href="In a state that comes up short in education, child care and so many other areas that really matter, don't we honor football players and coaches enough? How much is too much? Thanks to details Jacobs provided, we now have a measure. It's a bronze likeness 1 ½ times life-size that weighs about 1,900 pounds. That's too much."

Keeping our commitment, when the state media presents balanced reporting, we’ll let you know. This was definitely one of those pieces.

What every Alabama recruit should know: NFL legends want their kids to play for Nick Saban
Izzy Gould paints an accurate picture of just how good a coach Alabama head coach Nick Saban is. NFL legend want their kids to play for Saban, and come away from first-hand observations of his player development and program management utterly amazed. Read the full story here.

Mobile-Press Register trying to water down the flames
While Scarbinsky takes a reprise from banging the drum for the plainsmen, this piece from the Press-Register tries to squelch at least one of Auburn’s issues. Read where they try and water down Chaz Ramsey’s time with the NCAA here. Yeah, Press-Register…a meeting with the NCAA can be anything but negative. Right.

  1. I was shocked to see how unbiased and objective Scarbinsky was today. I hope his Auburn boss won’t fire him…On secon thought?

  2. Guys, guys, guys…please don’t fall into the trap of liking Scarbinsky because of one article. This is the same guy that trashed Saban for oversigning, even though ESPN reported that *uburn and Troy are worse. The same guy that wrote “Anthony Grant WILL NOT be coming to Tuscaloosa”. The same guy that trashed The U of A during the Albert Means investigation, but defends *uburn at every turn. The same guy who lists John Stancil as a “source”. And don’t forget, he wrote last year that the Saban statue shouldn’t be put up, either. This guy hates The U of A. Yes Rc, he needs to be fired. Today.

  3. Point taken, and I’m free of any traps. But the first sign of the worm turning is when a herald like Scarbo starts singing a different song.

He hates UA because he’s butthurt from the beating Saban puts on the media, and that’s his way of lashing back.

But when even he starts seeing what’s happening in Auburn, it can’t be good for the barners.

  4. Well said, ITK. And you’re right, if Scab is slowly starting to turn on *uburn, it can’t be good for them. Always enjoy reading your posts, and notice that you’ve started posting some on TI. Keep up the good work.

  5. In fairness to the Mobile paper, that is the “Sound Off” you are linking above. It’s little more than an abbreviated letters/calls to the editor

  6. The one and done cheaters run barners are so roster depleted they can’t even field 2 complete split squads for their spring fling.LMAO. The offense will play the defense in a points based “good play” scoring system. LMAO.Even though he’s not enrolled in school yet, recruit Keihl Frazier has been in Auburn this week for film study with Gus Mahlzan. Yet another NCAA violation. They’ll probably try to sneak him on the field for the spring game.

  7. “the other Dave”, my apologies if that’s the case. No where on the linked page does it indicated that, but could be an oversight when posted.

bamabino…LOL at your prediction for Frazier, but crazier things have appeared to happen down there.

  8. Heres another prediction for you, when all this doesnt produce what you think is going to happen, you will boycot everything there is in the state to show your disgust. Thats nothing new though. Soap and water has been on your list for ages now. Hope you all are enjoying this fantastic day, and you are welcome that I gave you another one there tooth.

  9. …said the person who said the Titanic could never sink.

Ya’ll are so screwed FBJ, and you don’t even see it. That makes it that much more enjoyable. NCAA in south Georgia just yesterday digging for more. As much as you need to worry about the NCAA talking to who you signed, it’s the ones you didn’t that should keep you up at night.

Enjoy not seeing your A-Day game on TV today. Guess a team with 49 schollies isn’t much to see.

  10. Dammit man! NO TV? I was so looking forward to seeing walkon stud Blake Burgess dominate from his o-line position.

  11. Jeff Lee’s Twitter today, making fun of Maze’s injury today.

I swear every last one of them is lower than a child molestor. They should all have to register with the local police and wear ankle monitors.

  12. And thats what you aint getting ITK. All that digging is turning up all kinds of things in various places, as You will soon find out. I said in the beginning folks are going to wish they kept their mouths shut and fingers to themselves. It is kinda fun though, isnt it? My comments that were said didnt hold water….we shall see. Stick to the cartoons dude and leave actual articles to somebody that can write one without filling it up with selective links. Are you really Shane?

  13. FBJ, the pressure is getting to you. You think people are just making up NCAA investigations, but dude, they really are after Auburn. You can’t see that? You really think Auburn is THAT squeaky clean? What is the sad reality is you Auburn folks are focused on slamming a recruit and his family over your own problems. Calloway obviously picked the right school, you know. The one that doesn’t have 5 NCAA investigations going on. Bama didn’t even really need the guy. If he was so bought and paid for, why switch to Auburn, even for a minute? Why would he lie about Auburn misleading him? Plus, the guy isn’t even enrolled in school yet. Has Chaz Ramsey got you all so worried? You can’t stand the heat, so sling mud at Bama. Thats the Auburn way. When that hammer falls, will you promise to stay away here for good? You really are going to look like a dumbass if you keep showing up then. But it is coming. I think you know it is, deep down, but you won’t admit it.

This describes the Bammer Moron Nation!
