The NCAA released this response to Ralph Nader’s reform proposal.

“Mr. Nader’s proposal is off-base on so many fronts it is hard to know where to start. The 145,000 student-athletes who receive athletics related financial aid each year are in fact students first — as evidenced by the fact that in almost every demographic they graduate at higher percentages than their counterparts in the general student body. Moreover, less than two percent of them will ever play professional sports. The assertion that student-athletes who receive athletics aid are professionals defies logic — they are students, just like any other student on campus who receives a merit-based scholarship.”

Nader is wrong. The NCAA should ignore his talk.

Now what needs reform is recruiting. The NCAA should reform the idiotic and corrupt practice of major college football and basketball recruiting. We learned last night what most people already knew—that college football recruiting is an open sewer.

  1. Bullcrap! Rules, rules, rules! This country has become obsessed with phucking rules. You can’t take a piss in your own bathroom without checking the damn rule book anymore. We are just one floor away from becoming a damn fascist state. I say take all the recruiting rules away and let them that have grab all the best recruits and then all these damn division 1 wannabees who came out of division 2, 3 and NAIA wanting to be equal when they haven’t earned it, would dissappear again real fast. RTR!

  2. Typical SEC fool asking for fewer rules. Why does it matter in $EC country? No one follows the rules anyway.

  3. Ralp Nader, Obama, barney Franks and the like hate football and abything else that America loves, they are freekin communist.
