The Alabama football 2011 recruiting class is taking shape and it isn’t even national signing day. The official details from the University follow below:

Crimson Tide Football Welcomes Eight Players for Spring Semester
Alabama announced that eight student-athletes were scheduled to begin classes on Wednesday and will be eligible to participate in spring practice with the Crimson Tide.

The group includes five high school players, including three that graduated early to enroll at Alabama for the spring semester, and three junior college signees. Alabama welcomes three defensive linemen, two linebackers, one wide receiver, one quarterback and one offensive lineman for the start of the spring semester.

The January signees include four-star junior college prospects Quinton Dial (East Mississippi Community College), Aaron Douglas and Jesse Williams (Arizona Western Community College) along with early high school graduates linebacker Trey DePriest (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield), quarterback Phillip Ely (Tampa, Fla./Plant) and Vinnie Sunseri (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Northridge).

DePriest, a five-star prospect and ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect by Scout.com, is one of the top linebackers in the 2011 recruiting class. DePriest was also the top-ranked linebacker in Ohio by Rivals.com and the Ohio Division-I Defensive Player of the Year in 2010. He played in the Under Armour All-America Game and finished his senior season with 117 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

Ely, is the sixth-ranked pro-style quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com and No. 5 by Tom Lemming. He was a four-star prospect and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Ely threw for 2,731 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2010 for Plant High School while completing 64.3 percent of his passes. As a junior in 2010, he led Plant to the Florida 5A State Championship while throwing for 1,860 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Sunseri is the son of Crimson Tide assistant coach Sal Sunseri and one of the top defensive playmakers in the state of Alabama. He was selected as one of the biggest surprises at the Under Armour All-American Game. Sunseri was the 2009 Defensive Player of the Year in North Carolina and the 2010 Class 6A Defensive Player of the Year in Alabama. Sunseri made 107 tackles as a junior at Marvin Ridge High School (Waxhaw, N.C.) and 114 stops for Northridge High School (Tuscaloosa) as a senior.

Alabama’s three junior college signees were among the top in the nation. Williams, 6-4, 330-pound defensive lineman who hails from Brisbane, Australia was the No. 2 player in the Rivals.com 2011 JUCO Top 50. He made 30 tackles in seven games with six tackles for loss (-29 yards) and two sacks (-12 yards).

Douglas, who was a freshman All-American at Tennessee in 2009, spent one season at Western Arizona in 2010, earning NJCAA All-America honors. He was ranked No. 10 in the Rivals.com 2011 JUCO Top 50.

Dial originally signed with the Crimson Tide out of Clay-Chalkville High School in 2008 and has excelled during his time at East Mississippi Community College. He is ranked 15th in the Rivals.com 2011 JUCO Top 50. Dial was a two-year defensive standout at the nose guard position, making 76 total stops in 2010 with 3.5 sacks.

Alabama also welcomes two players to the Capstone, who originally signed with the Crimson Tide in February of 2010, including wide receiver Ronald Carswell (Macon, Ga./Westside) and defensive lineman Wilson Love (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook). Carswell is a fast and versatile wide receiver, who was an AAAA All-State selection in 2009 by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that caught 33 passes for 714 yards as a senior. Love was ranked as the No. 34 defensive tackle by ESPNU in 2010 and is the brother of current Crimson Tide offensive lineman Tyler Love. Wilson recorded 12 sacks and 94 tackles as a senior in high school.

  1. How does the Calloway thing feel. Kind of like a cold hand under your bra? Ouch that hurt.

  2. Cannot wait to see Jesse Williams and Quinton Dial on the DL together. Beasts. In Williams, think a leaner, stronger Terrence Cody. A space eater in the middle.

  3. Yeah he will be able to really pimp slap sorority girls there. Maybe the father this time can not only drop the lawsuit, maybe he can give him a summer job too.

  4. I heard there are some small beebee crack rocks for sell around the stadium right now. Just meet some Bama players next to the Saban midget statue.

  5. No, Calloway’s a pussy. And we are stacked at linebacker. Trey DePriest (#3 prospect in the land) is already on campus now.

Nice try though. Now stop with the sick reminiscing of your favorite times with your mom.

  6. Calloway was afraid of the competition. After Dee Hart and if Crowell commits to Bama, there went his shot at running back. DePriest and two four star players at linebacker, so there is a lot of competition there. He was up against tough competition not only in the starters, but backups, and in his own class as well. Why not go to Auburn? After all, they just won the NC, but the competition next season at Auburn is an easier path to early playing time. And I would accept Dee Hart, or Crowell (or both) over him at running back, so Bama can send Auburn a few leftovers from a stacked class, haha. Bamas commits in all the all-star games looked very well. I can’t wait to see all these guys together the next few seasons.
While Auburn is high fiving and rolling trees, Saban is recruiting one of the best groups since he has been at Bama so far.

  7. Precisely, Brando. The primadonna Calloway wants to play running back, and he’s not good enough to cut it in our backfield.

I sincerely doubt AU can back up this year with a 10-win year next season. They’ll look more like Texas’ year this past season, and catering to high school divas like Calloway will be a large part of the reason why.

  8. calloway fit in more with thug trash and wanted to play there and his dad got 100k and promised to share…the rb issue is bs

  9. Anybody heard anything about the Kris Frost kid? You know, the one that committed to a team that apparently didn’t want him.

    Is he still committed?

  10. No asshole if it was going bother Alabama to lose the loser, Saban would have lied to him like all the other SEC coaches do and tell him he would be an RB just so he would stay. Unfortunately for the dumbass we have half dozen RB’s that can run circles around him and way too many LB’s also. Now the fools gonna be a loser on a losing team unless he comes to his senses in three weeks and comes back. Man I can’t wait to see our Aussie. He’s 330 already and you know Cochran will fatten him up and put more muscle on him. Looks like we got us a more athletic Mount Cody. 13 and counting! RTR!

  11. In the one service where we dropped to #2 behind Texas, we are technically still #1 since they go by total points instead of average rating. We are only 100 points behind Texas, but Texas has signed 23 and us only 21. When we have signed even one more if he is only a 2* we will have more points than Texas. Also our average rating of 3.8+ is the highest of all. That is really what all the services should go by is average rating instead of number of recruits until everybody has signed all that they are going to sign and then they can go by number of recruits and total points. In any case where we stand in each of the services and with the very real possibility of signing 3 – 4 more 5* and nothing less than a 4*, we are going to be a walk away #1 in every service. The Barnturds are recruiting some really high rated RB’s and QB’s and such, but they are going against some really big name schools and not all those guys are going to want play on the same team and compete against each other. They may end up #7 or #8.

  12. Crimsonite, the Aussie (Williams) is going to be a freaking beast. I can’t wait for the spring game to see him in uniform.

  13. It’s official. Scam has gone pro! Aubie will lose at least 8 games next year. The stupid phuckers haven’t got a QB who’s ever taken a snap! Though I guess they could always buy em another one! But at the moment I’m not aware of any available 6-6, 260lb laptop theives who can throw the ball! Bwaa Haww Haww! RTR!

Temporary Oregon fans populate Bama Nation Roll Ducks Roll By Jason Morton Staff Writer Published: Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 3:30 a.m.

TUSCALOOSA | According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, which bills itself as the world’s oldest and largest environmental protection group, the Mountain Gorilla, the Arakan forest turtle and the Javan Rhinoceros are among the rarest of species on this planet.

Since the Auburn Tigers were officially chosen to play the Oregon Ducks in the BCS Championship game, the IUCN might want to add one more mammal to that list: a University of Alabama Crimson Tide fan openly pulling for the Tigers to win.
A search for such a creature across Tuscaloosa on Saturday was met with complete failure. When asked if he or she would be supporting Auburn University, the state’s only other school competing in the Southeastern Conference, each crimson-clad fan gave an answer equivalent to ‘not only no, but hell no.’
Drew White, 52, said he already ordered an Oregon Ducks sweatshirt he plans to wear over an Alabama T-shirt on Jan. 10, the day the Tigers and the Ducks square off to decide the national champion.
    He’s also purchased a hunter’s duck call.
‘I know it’s bad,’ White said, ‘but I cannot root for Auburn because, in my opinion, even when they’re winning, they’re losers.’
Donald Savage, 72, is from the generation that preached true Alabama fans always pulled for Auburn except that one day a year when the two played one another.
However, the 10-year tenure of former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville, who stepped down in 2008, ended that sense of propriety for the Fayette native.
He was referring not just to the six-year win streak Tuberville and Auburn enjoyed over Alabama, but the way Tuberville seemed intent on flashing a new finger in the air after every win.
‘It’s hard for me to every pull for them again,’ Savage said.
    They, apparently, are not alone.
At Hat Shack in University Mall, what few Oregon hats the store had in stock quickly disappeared after BCS National Championship game was announced Dec. 5, said employee Taylor Disney.
‘As soon as it was decided that Auburn was playing Oregon, everyone and their brother came in asking for Oregon hats,’ Disney said, adding most asking wore crimson.
‘And I actually had a guy get a hat with ‘roll ducks’ stitched on the side of it,’ Disney said.
The anti-Auburn mentality appears to transcend ages, races and religions.
Because, after all, when you’re brought up an Alabama fan, the enemy is defined as those pulling for ‘that cow college on the other side of the state,’ as legendary Alabama Coach Paul W. ‘Bear’ Bryant is alleged to have once said.
‘I hate Auburn,’ said 20-year-old Hayes Shirley, a lifelong Alabama fan from Winfield. ‘I don’t care if Auburn never wins another game.’

  15. Keep posting these goober stories, losers. Crystal in the display case. You lost 28-27, repeat 28-27 in front of 110,000 greasy mullets.

We have all the momentum going into recruiting season.

  16. Ray Drew, Isiah Crowell, La’ell Collins, Gabe Wright. You are gonna be losers again come signing day.

    Alabama is yesterdays news.

  17. You are right Nicket, we are yesterdays news. Todays news is “Will Auburn keep the Title?” and “*”.

    LMAO!!

Yeah, today’s news should impress recruits! LMAO

  18. The names you just mentioned asshole, Bama already has commitments higher than any of them and has an equal to better chance of signing 4 more whioh are also higher. What a stupid bastard. Go home and play grabass in your treehouse with little Johnny. Don’t know what the phuck you and 334 are doing here. There wasn’t a one of us on your faggot boards last year after we won it all. We aren’t interested in what you say. You may as well be talking Chinese. The more you talk the more we’re sure you are super retarded. The whole world knows who Alabama is. 10% of the world wonders who Aubie is and why your located in Upstate New York. Puff out your chest all you want. Nobody is watching. Nobody cares. Strike that. Nobody cared. Now half the world cares and wants your phucking heads in a basket. Dumbasses!RTR!

  19. Calloway possibly pay-for-play at the cow college? Rumor has it a well known Russellville resident (and Auburn backer) along with Calloway’s guardian Peaches struck a deal??? But Peaches “says” he didn’t know Calloway had changed his mind and decided to go to Auburn until the moment he chose the Aubie cap….yeah right!
