Sorry I’ve been MIA the last week. I went out of town for Christmas to spend time with girlfriend and her family—then immediately got the flu when I arrived back in Birmingham. The last thing on my mind this week was football. I know. I’m old and weak. The white Christmas in Atlanta was awesome. The flu arrived Monday and it is not awesome.

On to the Capital One Bowl—practice is always an important indicator of a team’s chances in a bowl game. So, how was this week’s practice for the Alabama Crimson Tide?

“I think we have had a great week of practice,” Alabama running back Mark Ingram said. “Our practices have been some of the best of the year and the whole team seems to have urgency about what they are doing. We know there is still something significant left for us to accomplish, and we are looking forward to playing our best game of the season on Saturday against a very good Michigan State team.”

Thursday afternoon was the last practice session before the New Year’s Day bowl game. As always, take player quotes with a grain of salt. However, it is important to hear the players say the right things.
