The Alabama Crimson Tide football team placed four on the SEC All-Freshman team. A release from Alabama follows and below that is the entire release from the SEC.

Alabama Football Has Four Selected to SEC All-Freshman Team
The Alabama football team had four players selected to the 11th annual Southeastern Conference Coaches’ All-Freshman Team, it was announced Thursday.

Tackle D.J. Fluker (Foley, Ala.) earned the honor on offense, playing in nine games and earning eight starts at right tackle. He has helped pave the way for Alabama to have a 100-yard rusher in four of the nine contests he has played and rank 36th in the country in rushing offense.

The Tide had two selections on the defensive side of the ball with newcomers C.J. Mosley (Theodore, Ala.) and Dee Milliner (Millbrook, Ala.) earning the honor. Mosley has played in all 12 games as a true freshman at linebacker and ranks third on the team with 66 tackles. He also registered two quarterback hurries and eight pass breakups to go along with two interceptions that he returned for touchdowns.

Dee Milliner has played in all 12 games at defensive back and earned nine starts as a true freshman. He totaled 52 tackles, including 38 solo stops as well as breaking up five passes, forcing a fumble, intercepting a pass and tallying a quarterback hurry.

On special teams, punter Cody Mandell (Lafayette, La.) also nabbed the accolade. Mandell has played in all 12 games and punted 39 times for 1,528 yards, averaging 39.2 yards per punt. He has recorded nine punts of over 50 yards and placed 13 inside the 20.

Florida led the way with five selections, while Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee had four each. Georgia, LSU and Vanderbilt each had three representatives on the team.
