All the preceding week, all the U of A talk centered on the sour grapes issue of a purported agent that missed out on a cash collection when Mr. Newton decided to attend AU in preference to getting caught up in a big mess that would have resulted from him enrolling at MSU.

8. If you don’t think the NCAA is looking at Auburn then you are truly myopic. Why else would they want the financial records from Newton’s family and the church? They suspect he was paid. And who would pay for him? The team that landed him. You can buy the AU spin, but nobody else with a brain is buying it.

63. Well, we may not be able to do anything significant on the national level, but we can damn sure still win the State Championship from the #1 football state in the nation. The 10 point difference between Bama, LSU and Aubie is not much, especially when Black Friday is in our house. It will be easier on you guys if we beat you anyway. The nations 2 best RB’s have not had a game winning performance since Arkansas, and untimely QB sacks have just killed us in both losses. McElroy’s fumble was not his fault. Warmack may as well have been taking a lunch break on that play as his man was in the backfield almost as soon as the ball was. The officials did miss a horrible pass interference call when #17 mugged Julio on 3rd down as we were driving. But the game shouldn’t have hinged on that play. It was simply an uninspired performance that should have been put out of reach in the first half. I’m completely disappointed in the attitudes of too many of this teams players who have brought down the whole team. Two more performances like that one and we’ll be playing in Or-phucking-lando at Christmas. I will say that I was thrilled with Julio who made Peterson look like a bumbling fool though. RTR!

82. I’ll agree we had the most conservative gameplan since USCjr. I think there was like three Wildcats, all runs. One Pistol. No misdirection, no screens to Ingram or Richardson, nothing new or fancy. And on the last punt which allowed LSWho to run out the clock, Shelly could have run to downtown Birmingham. The whole defense at the snap turned around and sprinted toward Paterson. It wasn’t just half the players who screwed the pooche, the coaching staff acted like they were stoned on Mary Jane. Makes me wonder how many of them took LSWho and the 6.5? And yet one damn play would have won it – when Maze dropped the ball after he beat Patterson.
